These magnificent six drinks coasters come in a suitably grand decorative box. Made by John Lee and dating from the 1960s, each coaster is soft-backed and features a Scottish landmark or natural scene. The scenes include "Loch Lomond and Ben Lomond", "Marscoe, Isle of Skye", "Ben Nevis", "Balmoral Castle, Aberdeenshire", "Looking Across Loch Roe To Suilven & Canisp", and "Rowan Time At Loch Leven". Truly kitsch!

In good condition, with only minor wear and tear consistent with their age.

Charming Articulated Bottle Stopper

This colourful wooden character bottle stopper has a movable head and free-swinging arms, making drinking time all the more like playtime! Not that we'd encourage that - no, sir, we wouldn't.

He's approximately 11 cm (4½ in) tall from the tip of his natty hat to cork. And he's cute. Mucho cuto.

Drinking Man Bottle Stopper

This charming bottle stopper raises a smile as well as a drink. It features a carved wooden man raising a glass of beer to his opened mouth when the lever at the back of the bottle stopper is depressed. Your wine may lack character but we can assure you that this item certainly doesn't!

He measures approximately 13 cm (5 in) from the top of his hat to the cork and he's in good shape, considering the drinking, although he probably should get that nose seen to...

Carved wood animal bottle stoppers with stand

Sometimes we come across items for which words alone aren't enough and this is one of them. What can we say about it? Well, at the outset it's a set of carved wooden bottle stoppers with a stand. For some reason - answers on a carved wooden postcard, please - there are two dogs and an owl and each has orange glass eyes. Although it's difficult to age, we are led to believe it's possibly from the 1930s or 1940s. It's weird and wonderful and we really like it!

The owl measures 7.3cm high, the flat-eared dog 7.5cm, and the dog with pointed ears 9cm high (without cork stoppers). The stand is 6.5cm high, 12.5cm wide and 3cm thick.

Musical wooden bottle pourer

This quirky bottle pourer features a wind up mechanism which causes music to play when you tip it. It's of wood construction with carved detailing and flower patterns on both sides. The music is the French song "Boire un petit coup" ("Have a little drink!") which is a jaunty little tune we must say (look it up on YouTube!).

The pourer body is made of wood with metal elements and measures approximately 10cm / 4.5" (widest part) x 3cm / 1.25" (depth) x 17cm / 6.5" (length). The wood is in reasonable shape, but the cork has seen better days and would probably need replacing if it's to be used as an actual pourer. A novelty item perhaps, but a rather charming one!

We're not sure we can say anything more meaningful when it comes to the images except that they are so bad they're good - they just shout their origins loud and proud. In good condition, with only minor wear and tear consistent with their age.

Wooden bottle stopper

This perky wooden character bottle stopper is a great advertisement for the odd drink or three. I mean, just look at him! OK, so he's swaying ever so slightly and perhaps he's not as slim as he could be, but he does look rather content, we think!

Characterful Drink Pourer

Pouring your drinks has probably never been quite so much fun! This wonderful item, a wooden carved man's head is best appreciated from our photos. He's about 9cm (3½ in) tall and should fit most bottles if you intend to use him for pouring purposes. Otherwise, he makes for a very pleasing ornament - definitely a characterful item!

Rather Strange Corkscrew

This is one of *those* items which is hard to describe. It's wood. It was undoubtedly imported. That might be a mouse. It seems to be wearing a beret. And lipstick. And a tie.

What we do know is that it's a corkscrew. It's rather strange. And we like it.
