Immediately recognisable as an icon of modern design, this is the Anglepoise Model 1227. This particular Angelpoise 1227 is cream with rolled rim to the shade and a two step base which dates it to the late 1930s.

In very good and, more importantly, original condition with "Crabtree" bulb holder still in place.
An earthing terminal has been fitted to this lamp near the connection of the shade.
Not PAT tested, and, as with all electrical items requires inspection and testing in the environment in which it is intended to be used.

Due to the heavy but also fragile nature of this item collection is preferred, though we will, of course, be happy to discuss working with your courier of choice to get the lamp to you safe and sound. Please get in touch with us.

An original and very appealing candlestick-style table lamp stand with Art Deco influences and probably dating from the 1930s. Made from Bakelite which is in excellent condition considering its age, the lamp stand features a stepped circular base with push button switch, and a waisted central column. The top and base have a matching edge design which add subtle elegance.

The lamp stand measures approximately 23cm (9 in.) high (including the bulb holder) and the base has a diameter of 12.5cm (5 in.). Please note: the glass shade pictured is of a later design and is for display only. Should you wish to pair it with the lamp stand, and buy both, please get in touch. This items has not been electrically tested, so please be aware that it requires attention and inspection before use. There is a slight wobble to the top of the lamp stand where the bulb holder fits, but this should be an easy fix and doesn't affect the lamp in normal use.

A set of "Minibrix" which were an all-rubber construction toy dating from the mid 1930s, made by the Premo Rubber Company. The building system pre-dates Lego but enshrined some of the principles of the latter, whilst being made of rubber rather than plastic. The interlocking technique of the blocks - moulded rubber recesses and matching nodes - is accompanied by roofs which are a single hinged piece of rubber. Sloping pieces allow for the fixing of these latter items.

This is a fairly comprehensive set, but it is not known if it is complete. What is included is a good selection of over a hundred bricks in good condition, with a few having damage to their rubber but still usable, two roofs, an illustrated "instruction manual" (/catalogue) and the original box. The box itself is quite dull in colour and has some surface losses but is reasonable considering it's likely to be over 80 years old.

Much-played with and no doubt much-loved, this Triang No. 2 model tractor dates from the 1930s. An unusual find and a genuinely characterful toy from a bygone era. Originally, the model would have had rubber caterpillar-style tracks, but even without the tracks this one happily moves forward when wound.

Suitable for what we hope would be a sensitvely realised restoration project or simply as a display piece and occasional plaything ;)

Not dissimilar to the shape of a World War One tank, this great little Art Deco cigarette box in metal with hinged lid, features a faux wood effect in two tones and typical geometrical designs. Most likely made for the Squirrel brand of cigarettes, this is an unusual and eye-catching item.

In good overall condition and structurally solid, the box could certainly perform a new role. There is some slight pitting to the top surface and some general signs of age and use throughout, but otherwise the box is clean and cosmetically good, with very little fading to the colours (as is often the case with boxes of this type).

The box measures 9 cm wide by 12 cms deep by 6.5 cm high (3½ in. by 4½ in. by 2½ in.)

A highly unusual rotary clock made by Lux in the USA and known colloquially as the "Mystery Clock" or the "Tape Measure Clock". This one is in a pale blue with brass fittings and gold banding, whilst it also has a very pleasing aged appearance. The mechanism is mounted horizontally in the lower section of the clock, whilst the top section rotates, with a pointer to indicate the time. The clock functions well and has an adjustment dial on the underside for extra accuracy of timekeeping.

Definitely one for the collectors or for those wishing to have an unusual timepiece in their home.

An iconic Art Deco design which featured prominently on passenger ships - particularly the Cunard Line - and was popular from the 1930s to the 1950s, this is the square teapot known as "The Cube". Although variously made by T G. Green, Grimswade, Wedgwood, and Crown Devon amongst others, this one was made by and is marked Foley China of Leicester, is an unusual combination of white ground with green detailing to the slightly proptruding circular spout, lid and handle. The former is made from a shallow chamfer at the front corner, whilst a deeper chamfer at the rear allows room for a handle. The square rim is decorated with a band of green, the colour reflected again in the lid with its recessed handle.

This one is in good general visual condition, bar a hairline crack on the top surface of one of the corners, a minor blemish to the lid, and some internal cracks to the strainer (all pictured). We certainly wouldn't recommend it be used as a functional teapot for these reasons, but we think that the modern design and intriguing nature of the pot is not substantially affected by these defects. It's an unusual piece of Art Deco design and iconic in its own right.

The teapot measures 10cm by 10cm by 10cm (4 in by 4 in by 4 in) with a slightly protruding spout.

Made by Sipelia of Sheffield these EPNS coffee spoons feature colourful coffee beans on their handles, and date from the 1930s to the 1950s - broadly in an Art Deco style. They remain usable and in excellent condition (cocktail stirrers, anyone!?), making them suitable for your next coffee morning or indeed as part of a vintage decor display... or cocktails. I think we mentioned cocktails already?

Each spoon measures approximately 10cm (4in). We cannot offer the original box for these items, alas, but they will be carefully packaged.

This poster, measuring 70cm by 50cm (27½ in by 19¾ in), was published in the early 1930s to accompany a health and fitness book. It combines anatomical diagrams with illustrations of fitness exercises and accompanying text about the muscles employed and the benefits of the exercises. It's definitely a little bit quirky...

Although it's seen better days - haven't we all - it has great appeal still, partly due to its illustrations which are quite Hipster in nature and partly because of the subject matter which should find favour with gyms, fitness fanatics, or athletes. We think it would look superb in the right context and with appropriate mounting and framing.

Because it was originally an insert in a book it bears significant signs of folding, and there are some age-related marks but most of the latter are outside of the main illustrations so when mounted would be less visible. There are a couple of minor tears, also outside of the main content but it doesn't feel fragile as a whole. Overall, there is some yellowing of the paper and other signs of wear and tear, but it probably wouldn't be so attractive without these signs of age.
