Vintage Hitachi KC-S51L Synthesised Voice Clock Radio (1981)

A rare Hitachi digital clock radio dating from the early 1980s which has a few tricks up its sleeve. Inside the very square silver body is a synthesised voice system which tells the time on command, can be set to "chime" at intervals, and also provides wake-up and sleep notification duties. The voice is suitably retro - an American=accented deep male tone which is certainly a throwback to pre-Alexa times! There's a three-band FM/MW/LW radio which produces a good sound and can be the alarm source, too. Also of note is the blue VFD digital display which can be dimmed and is very pleasing in use.

In good condition considering its age and use, with only superficial wear and tear to the unit. Believed to be fully working - all the major functions (the clock, radio and alarm) have been tested and confirmed functional. Some of the settings buttons on the left hand side of the unit require a definite "push" to operate, but they do work.

Measuring approximately 18.5cm square (7¼ in.) with a depth of 9cm (3½ in.).

Vintsge 1970s Kiddicraft Wooden Tray Jigsaw Puzzle – Jungle

A very charming wooden tray style jigsaw puzzle depicting animals in a jungle scene, made by Kiddicraft as part of their "Jigsaw Story Picture" range from the 1970s.

1980s Bright Blue Plastic “Dairylea” Lunch Box

It might seem somewhat churlish to ask someone to pay for something that originally was free, but there you go! This was a free lunchbox, part of a promotion for Kraft Dairylea. Presumably one had to buy (and presumably eat) a certain quantity of the aforementioned cheese triangles in order to qualify, so there really is no such thing as a free lunch(box). In any event, we reckon it dates from the 1980s and is a rather a nice thing - the branding is unmistakeable to those of a certain age and diet.

It's a 19cm by 9cm by 14cm (8 in. by 3½ in. by 5½ in. approx.) chunk of bright blue plastic (not including the handle) with a slightly worn "Dairylea" sticker on the outside and a sticker for the promotion on the inside of the lid. It looks like it's never been used. It should be, at least for something...

Vintage Small White and Blue First Edition Wall Clock by Hanson

A small white wall clock with blue hands made by Hanson and probably dating from the 1980s. This is badged as a "First Edition". We're not sure what that means (!), but what it does have is a very appealing and simply designed face and a slightly unusal body to go with it.

The clock measures 19.5 cm (7¾ in.) in diameter at the rear, being slightly chamfered to the front, whilst the face has a diameter of 17.5cm (7 in.) and the depth is 3cm (1¼ in.). The movement is an audibly ticking quartz style and is powered by a single AA battery. The clock is in excellent condition and comes with its original box and (brief) instruction manual.

Vintage Tonka Pressed Steel Pepsi-Cola Delivery Truck with Original Crates

A relatively uncommon Tonka "Pepsi-Cola" delivery truck which is made all the more desirable because it still retains most of its stickers and also, crucially, retains its plastic bottle crates which sit in the rear of the truck. Measuring approximately 20cm long, the truck is in very good condition for its age and use, with not too many dings or scrapes to the painted metal body parts and perhaps the only defect being some peeling of the stickers on the crates. It's unusual to find one in this kind of condition with the crates still present, and it's a good display piece, whether for the Tonka collector or indeed the collector of Pepsi-related items.

1970s Tonka Friction Drive Semi Truck and Trailer Made in Japan

Better known for their bright yellow and orange construction-themed toys, this is a slightly different Tonka product. This is a smaller, stylised truck and trailer which bears some of the obvious Tonka hallmarks - notably its absolutely bomb-proof construction - but some deviations. Most notable is that styling - it's got an almost futuristic look to it - and the friction-drive mechanism which is activated by first rolling the tractor unit until the revs build and then either pressing the button on the rear of it with your finger or attaching the trailer to it which engages the drive. And, away it goes... it many ways it seems to be a precursor or companion to the Clutch Popper style cars which Tonka produced, but it doesn't appear to have been branded under that label.

The truck and trailer together measure apprximately 20cm (8 in.) in length, with a height of 7.5cm (3 in.) and width of 7cm (2¾ in.)

In very good condition with some minor wear to some of the metal corners, to the plastics, and to the stickers, but overall in very good shape for a 40+ year old toy and a great example for the Tonka collector and the "Big Kid" alike.

1950s Scheurich Speckled Ceramic Vase in Black, Yellow, Blue and Red

A very attractive and rare 1950s vase made by Scheurich. The exterior features a grey speckled ground, incised stripes in blue, red, and yellow, and a three-sided, slightly irregular, form which is a great example typical of the era. The interior is a contrasing white. Measuring approximately 20cm (8 in.) in height, the vase has a truncated sloping rim, and contrasting hand-decorated wavy gold lines within flat black stripes to complete the look. The makers mark is worn and not readily discernible but we have identified it as a product of Scheurich.

The vase is in very good condition with no chips or cracks - and it would make a stunning addition to a mid-century home or as a statement piece in a more modern environment.

Vintage Sylvac Form 4625 White Vase With Flower Power Style Design

A charming Sylvac vase in the 4625 form with a very vintage-looking abstract and colourful "flower power" style design, replicated on two sides of the shape. In very good condition and measuring about 15 cm (6 in.) in height. It is impress marked to the base, though it is a little indistinct.

Vintage Westclox Electric Alarm Clock with Buzzer and Flashing Light

Very much of its time, this Westclox alarm clock, made in Scotland, has a brushed metal effect clock face with blue and light green detailing, red sweep hand, a lamp which flashes alongside the buzzer alarm, and is housed in a cream/white rectangular plastic body (it may have been white originally but it has aged slightly to a cream tone). It is mains powered. The alarm functions perfectly and is set using the dial on the rear of the body, where the dial to set the time is also located. The buzzer is extremely effective as a waker-upper - in other words, it's loud. The lamp flashes at the same time meaning you've absolutely no excuses for missing your wake up call! The alarm is deactivated on a temporary basis by pushing the button down on top of the unit and disabled more permanently by sliding the button slightly forwards when depressed, to latch it in place.

In good condition, with only minor signs of wear and age to the plastic body, and fully functional.

A really nice-looking and effective alarm clock which hopefully will find a suitably retro environment in which to wake up the inhabitants!

A set of eight Worcesterware metal drinks coasters with a blue ground and blue, gold and green geometric pattern with a flower-like design in the centre. In good cosmetic condition with just some minor signs of age and use (the odd small surface scratch), and measuring approximately 8cm (3¼ in.) in diameter with a depth of 5mm (¼ in.)
