A vintage battery-operated children's toy washing machine made by Chad Valley. The "Mary Lou" features not only a spinning drum "washer" mechanism, but also a "spin dryer" which drains the water away via a pipe on the side of the unit. This one is in used condition with signs of wear and tear from use - particular wear to the top surface - but generally very good without any major dings or dents to the casing. The box is present but has rather more signs of age and wear. It's a nice bonus to have it, though.

A very colourful and rather charming metal money box made by Chad Valley and depicting the nursery rhyme "Hickory Dickory Dock" with a clock face (non-functioning) serving as the opening for the box and for helping children with learning the time.

The box measures 9cm x 9cm x 6cm and is in very good condition, bar a small scratch to the side (pictured).

This tin Humming Top toy was made in England in the 1960s and is a great piece of childhood memorabilia. Made by Chad Valley (and by appointment to HM The Queen Mother), it has retained its bright, vibrant colours and has a working mechanism to make it spin and hum when spun at high speed (!). There are dents and scratches on the painted surface as a result of many years of "loving" use, but nothing that detracts from the colours and fun display of the rhyme, "Sing a song of Sixpence".

We think it would be a very nice addition to a vintage toy collection, or simply as a nostalgic item for display - or, actually, something for the current generation of children to enjoy all over again!
