A lampshade which has a pedigree surpassing its unprepossessing looks, this is the "Dice" Lampshade designed by Uffe Gustav Schiøler for Hoyrup of Denmark and then acquired and later sold by IKEA. A 19cm rounded cube of plastic with circular semi-opaque panels which protrude slightly. This one is in a suitably 1970s shade of orange and is the pendant shade variation - there were desk / table lamp versions as well.

There are some minor aspects of the condition which should be noted, principally that the top curved white panel with the ring for the bulb holder is not as even as it might be. It's secure but has deformed, and although it would most likely be out of sight in normal use, the potential buyer should be aware of it. Also to the top is a hairline crack to the orange plastic - it doesn't feel like it's a worry structurally and there's no sense of becoming worse. Again, it is not noticeable in ordinary use.

The "spider" ring (for fitting the bulb holder) is not original but is a good fit for the lamp. Otherwise, the lamp is in good shape with only minor superficial surface scratches as to be expected of an item of some age.

Please note, the sale is for the shade and spider ring only. No wiring or buibholder is supplied.

A VERY 1980s board game, this is Waddingtons' collaboration with Raleigh: "Raleigh Burner BMX" a dice-rolling, card-pulling game centred around the BMX bikes of the same name. It features obstacles, jumps and other racing incidents in order to determine the winning rider. The game is almost complete in terms of the playing side, but it is lacking the promotional stickers and poster which originally were included. One of the six BMX gameplay pieces requires some attention to be fully usable - it's present but has a broken base, so please bear that in mind. The playing cards are all present, the dice too, and all of the plastic board elements are there as well. The board itself is in good shape, though slightly warped. Instructions are provided.

An unusual game which is sure to take some people right back to a time of stunt pegs, whitewall tyres, and bunny hops. Ahem.

The vintage game of Floundering by Spears, this edition dating from the 1950s, is a dice-based game where players "catch" or "poach" pieces in order to form fish shapes -- flounders, naturally. This one is complete with all pieces (to make 12 fish in total), 2 dice and instructions printed on the underside of the lid. The game does not include the original dice roller / beaker, but that's not too major a loss. The playing pieces are in good condition considering their age and use, as is the box which has some slight wear to the edges and some ink on one side to the word "Floundering" (see photos).

It's good vintage fun, and we're not just angling for a sale when we say that.
