Back in the day... when you'd probably provide your dinner guests or house visitors with their own personal ashtray! This small and rather kitsch little item is a set of four small (3 inch square) glass ashtrays which stack in a portable storage rack with a handle for dispensing when needed. A quirky little item from a time when almost everyone smoked! (Now it could be used for decorative purposes or even as a tea light holder, we think...)

Made in Italy. There are one of two minor grazes and nibbles to the glass but otherwise everything is present and correct and in good shape. The storage "rack" measures approximately 15 cm (6 in.) tall.

An iconic Art Deco design which featured prominently on passenger ships - particularly the Cunard Line - and was popular from the 1930s to the 1950s, this is the square teapot known as "The Cube". Although variously made by T G. Green, Grimswade, Wedgwood, and Crown Devon amongst others, this one was made by and is marked Foley China of Leicester, is an unusual combination of white ground with green detailing to the slightly proptruding circular spout, lid and handle. The former is made from a shallow chamfer at the front corner, whilst a deeper chamfer at the rear allows room for a handle. The square rim is decorated with a band of green, the colour reflected again in the lid with its recessed handle.

This one is in good general visual condition, bar a hairline crack on the top surface of one of the corners, a minor blemish to the lid, and some internal cracks to the strainer (all pictured). We certainly wouldn't recommend it be used as a functional teapot for these reasons, but we think that the modern design and intriguing nature of the pot is not substantially affected by these defects. It's an unusual piece of Art Deco design and iconic in its own right.

The teapot measures 10cm by 10cm by 10cm (4 in by 4 in by 4 in) with a slightly protruding spout.

A set of four very distinctive, almost sculptural, dining chairs made by Portwood, dating from the 1960s which are feature pieces in their own right but also very functional. Ideal for any modern setting, the chairs have been upholstered in a grey felt fabric which allows the structural aesthetics to really shine.
