Early 1980s Hornsea “People” by John Clappison – Bridesmaid and Pageboy

These cute stylised figures are part of the short-lived Hornsea Pottery range of "People" designed by John Clappison and made by the company in the early 1980s. This pair are a bridesmaid and a pageboy and stand approximately 10cm (4 in.) tall. Their cute hairstyles and stylised clothing are very much in-keeping with the range and they make a sweet couple.

In good general condition with no chips or cracks but with some slight discolouration due to age. Sold as a pair but consideration will be given to splitting them at potential buyer's request.

Tall Hornsea “Saffron” Salt and Pepper Pots

If you remember the 1970s then you'll remember these iconic pieces of pottery from Hornsea, their classic "Saffron" design. These tall condiment pots (salt and pepper) shouldn't be confused with their albeit lovely, smaller version: these beauties measure in at a whopping 10.5 cm (4 in) high.

Both are in good condition. The seals are very tight and there is only a minor "ding" to one base (not visible except from underneath) - and the teak tops are in good shape too, restored to a natural wood effect with a food-safe finish rather than a dark stain. We think they're handsome... in a very 1970s way.

Hornsea Muramic Brown/Green Dish

VERY 1970s (although dating from the early 80s) Hornsea Pottery dish in the Muramic finish. Approximately 3¼ inches in diameter and 1 inch depth in very good condition, just one minor dink to the base (see photos). Marked "Lancaster Vitramic / Hornsea England" on the base.

VERY 1970s (although dating from the early 80s) Hornsea Pottery dish in the Muramic finish.? Approximately 5 inches in diameter and 1 inch depth with a couple of very minor dinks to the rim.? Marked "Lancaster Vitramic / Hornsea England" on the base.
