A vintage desk lamp in brushed aluminium and enamelled mustard colour metal with a vertical stand and adjustable arm which is fixed to the vertical by way of a tensioning mechanism. The origins of this lamp might be Italy - there are similar lamps made by Prova, some with a flatter base and some with a deeper base, such as this one. We suspect it was made in the 1970s and probably sold through BHS or similar.

The condition of the lamp is generally good and it is working order. There are some superficial scratches to the metalwork as to be expected of an item of this age and use, but the overall cosmetic state is good. The shade has, importantly, retained a good shape. Most likely, the base would originally have had a plastic cover, but this one does not have one.

An iconic slice of 1970s design, this is the Bush 538A wall or table clock with radio, designed in Italy by Adriano Rampoldi and sometimes badged as a Europhon H30. There are some minor differences between the two models (notably to the front and rear panels, but they are essentially the same unit: a large curved plastic body with sloping front and rear surfaces. The radio ontrols are at the front (or bottom if wall mounted) and the speaker is to the rear (top if wall mounted) and on the top of the body a very handsome and stylish clock with distinctive hour and minute hands and subtle sweep hand.

This one is the Bush-marketed model and features a MW and LW radio with tone and volume controls. The radio is powered independently of the clock, via battery or 9V adaptor. The sound is quite "beefy". The clock - with its German-made movement - runs off a "C" size battery and has a time adjustment and speed correction screw. It seems to run smoothly, but please bear in mind that this is a vintage item and has not been recently used and decide accordingly. It would almost certainly benefit from daily use and/or a service.

This one is in very good condition cosmetically, with no chips or cracks to the plastics or the clock face. The only defect is the missing end cap for the "off" button. It's in the rarer orange colour, as opposed to the seemingly more common white, which makes it all the more desirable. The battery compartment is clean and the AC adaptor input works. There are hanging fixtures on the underside of the unit for wall mounting. As should be expected there is some crackle to the volume and tone knobs, but nothing which lingers once the volume or tone has been set.

Measures approximately 32cm (12½ in.) in length, with a width of 23cm (9 in.) and a depth of 10cm (4 in.). It weighs approximately 2 Kg. Please note, due to restricitions on the posting of batteries, none are included in this sale.

An unusual Italian-made desk lamp in an unusual colour, this Prova lamp almost certainly dates from the 1970s - the decade that brought us avocado bathroom suites and more besides. Aside from the colour, the lamp has a few other design quirks - a more than slightly oversized fluted shade with "vent" and chrome band detailing, a base with a centrally-placed switch and chromed sides, and a white plastic underside "cover" which seems deliberately oversized so that it's a visible feature rather than just simply covering the underneath of the base.

The lamp is fully functioning and measures 40cm height (15¾ in.) with the gooseneck fully extended vertically, the shade has a front diameter of 14cm (5½ in.) and a length of 18cm (7 in.), and the base has a diameter of 13.25cm (5¼ iu.) and a height of 2.5cm (1 in.). In terms of condition, it's not bad at all - the shade is in good shape overall bar a couple of minor dents and slight loss of shape, the chrome work is good, and the plastic base is sound despite a few cracks to it. None of these defects are very noticeable, but there is a small loss of paint surface to the top of the base, which you will see in the close-up photographs of the base. It's not awful and we don't deem it bad enough to warrant a repair which might stand out more.

A stunning glass vase measuring 24 cm (9½ in.) in height with a double waisted design and a very eye-catching spiral pattern running through it. It's a relatively delicate piece of glass in an orange-amber colour (more orange than some of the brown-tinged amber colours which you see) and it really dazzles with light behind it and the interplay of the spiral patterns coming to the fore. Unmarked but very probably from Empoli, Italy. The photos here really don't do it justice, though we've tried! The vase is handblown with the very distinctive marks to the base which are evidence of this method of manufacture and though we can't be sure, it's most likely of Italian origin.

In good condition, with some minor grazes only to the surface and no chips or cracks. The rim is very good. There are other imperfections from the making process but nothing which detracts from the overall look of the vase. The base measures approximately 8 cm (3 in.) and as mentioned it's about 24 cm (9½ in.) in height.

A plastic pebble-like design icon, the "Galet" kitchen timer was designed by Frenchman Roger Tallon for the Italian company of Terraillon in the 1970s. It is a simple effective design, comprised of two halves of a squashed "sphere", with the upper half rotating to wind up and choose the time delay which is visible in white text on a black dial through the small lozenge-shaped window. The timer is attached to a 14 inch / 36 cm loop of rope allowing it to be hung up or carried. The timer emits a ringing bell when the delay has elapsed and the timer will run for up to 60 minutes.

This one is the orange variation (you may have also seen yellow and red versions) and it is in good condition overall, with just some minor superficial surface wear. It is fully functional.

In well-loved condition, by which it is meant that there are considerable signs of age, use, and wear and tear, this metal serving tray is nevertheless unmistakably a Piero Fornasetti design. Despite the condition, this remains a desirable example of the Italian designer, of its era and of its type.

It features - on the top surface - Fornasetti's trademark black and white illustrative style, depicting various pistols, revolvers, muskets and powder pouches, surrounded by an imitated rivet design, whilst the underneath is a faux wood effect. Both surfaces have significant wear and loss and some discoloration (please review photos carefully) and there is notable handling wear to one corner where the tray has been frequently held.

The tray is a rounded square approximately 33cm by 33cm (11 in. by 11 in.) with a depth of approximately 2cm (¾ in.).

A large desk or small floor lamp which was made in the 1970s in this distinctive chocolate brown colour from the time with characteristic cobra head, simple linear "vents", and flexible tubed neck. This one is branded SANTI and made in Italy, similar models were branded AB Fagerhults and made in Sweden and they were sold in Habitat.

The lamp "body" is plastic throughout and relatively lightweight (the base is not heavily weighted). A subtle power button is located just behind and underneath the cobra head. The gooseneck portion is covered in a black ridged plastic tubing and allows for flexible position of the head.

The lamp is in good condition and working. It should be noted that rhe plastic tubing covering the gooseneck has some minor dimpling to it and there is some wear to the rear edge of the plastic base near to the power cord. However, neither of these is particularly offensive nor noticeable in ordinary use.

The lamp measures 81 cm (32 in.) approximately in height with the neck fully extended and the base measures approximately 16.5 cm (6½ in.) in diameter and 4cm (1½ in.) in height. The "shade" portion of the lamp is approximately 15cm (6 in) in diameter and the flexible portion of the lamp is approximately 23 cm (9 in.) in length. The lamp takes a standard bayonet bulb, the recommendation being for it to be either a traditional or "globe" shape to suit the aperture provided by the shade.

A true design classic and an adjustable lamp like no other, the Hebi lamp made by Valenti of Italy is a coiled tube which literally provides flexibility: the entire structure being twistable and turnable throughout its length courtesy of an articulated metal inner and plastic outer "tube". An aerospace engineer, Isao Hosoe moved to Italy in his early twenties to establish his own design office in Milan. The Hebi lamp (Italian for "snake") of 1970 propelled him into international recognition and earned the lamp a place in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.

As well as its snake-like body, the lamp also has a rotatable metal shade in brushed metal which provides additional positioning possibilities. Ours is in good clean working condition, with minor wear and tear to the shade, some slight discoloration to the metal parts in places, and a couple of very minor indents to the shade which are barely noticeable without close inspection. We have decided to leave these imperfections "as is" rather than attempt to make the lamp look "new" again with significant polishing etc. It's an almost 50 year old lamp despite its modern looks and so, aside from cleaning it, we have respected that and done no more. The buyer might wish to fully polish the shade and metal parts but that would not be our choice.

The "body" of the lamp measures approximately 128cm (51 in.) with an additional 1.5m (59 in.) of flex. An inline switch provides an on/off button and the rubber sleeve which marks the meeting of the flex and the body is embossed with "VALENTI MADE IN ITALY". The shade is approximately 9cm (3½ in.) in diameter.

Heavily textured exteriors with a white ground and bold stripes in black, red and green provide a stark contrast to a glossy yellow interior on this fabulous pair of lava-style Fratelli Fanciullacci vases, made in Italy in the 1950s. Each vase is approximately 12cm high with a maximum width of 10cm and is signed on the base.

In very good condition, although it's rather difficult to discern damage on the exteriors due to their already very uneven and highly irregular surfaces. There may be one or two places where it appears that the glaze didn't take or the vase has been grazed - nothing that detracts from the looks of this great pair of Italian objects, though!

We're open to offers on these, so please do get in touch if you are interested in them and we can discuss pricing and shipping/collection options with you.
