Back when the world was more than a little bit "space mad" this was the kind of toy made available to the masses. Made by TAT in Hong Kong, it was sold as the Moonbase Central Flip-Over Car, and is a moon rover or space buggy powered by batteries which does indeed climb and roll-over when it meets an obstacle, so it can continue its journey. The chunky rubber tyres mean it will grip to an almost vertical surface before the metal bar on top provides the flipping action to send the car on its way again.

It measures approximately 18cm in length and is in working condition. It's missing a sticker which should read "T-21" on the front of the car and there are some losses to the plastics of the antenna / dish on top but otherwise it's in pretty good shape considering it's rough and tumble life.

A bit of a classic this one, if you're of a certain age. This is the 1985 MB Games "Bed Bugs" game, which unsuprisingly consists mostly of a "bed" and a load of "bugs". The aim of the game is to catch the coloured bugs in the bed which match your playing tweezers. The catch? (pun intended) The battery-powered motor underneath the bed sends those bugs leaping, hopping and jumping around, so grabbing them in your tweezers is no mean feat at all. It's a lot of fun. We've tested it to ensure that it meets the required standards of fun-ness (and we actually liked it so much we bought another one just to keep for ourselves!)

This one is in very good condition, complete (all bugs and tweezers), and in full working order. It takes two C-size batteries in the battery compartment, access to which is under the card insert of the bed.

A variant on the familiar "charge and release" toys of the era, this is a 1970s toy made by Jospeh International of Hong Kong, featuring a motorbike and rider, and battery-powered charging unit to generate some revs for the bike's motor. The motorbike is engaged with the charging unit via its metal exhaists and, once held in place, the motor is "revved up" using the left handlebar on the charger and released (after approximately 15 seconds of charging) using the right handlebar. It's a fun item and works as it should - on a smooth surface and with enough revs, the motorbike will zoom off with some speed.

An unusual item, complete with original - if somewhat battered and repaired - box.
