Almost de rigeur once upon a time - you know, that time before your mobile phone did just about everything. The perpetual calendar is still a very nice desktop accessory and actually rather useful too. This one is mounted on a piece of slate (of course) with green felt underside. The body of the calendar is in black plastic with a textured finish and has a silver tone fascia. It works. It tells you the day, date and month, but only if you remember to change it (perpetually).

Measures approximately 23cm (9 in.) in width (across the front), with a maximum depth of 10cm (4 in.) and a height of 7.5cm (3 in.). It weighs about 750g.

A vintage quality-made "Minette" S-4 Elevator Tripod in its original box. Made in Japan, the S-4 tripod features a flexible pan head for camera mounting, solid elevator mechanism for height adjustment and three-sectioned legs with screw release mechanisms - and all in a rather stylish black and grey finish. In terms of condition, the tripod is good with only some very minor signs of wear and tear: the odd scratch or graze to surfaces/edges but nothing major at all. All the mechanisms are sound and smooth in operation and it feels solid and dependable. The box is in relatively good condition considering its age, with signs of wear and tear to be expected but cosmetically good overall.

The tripod adjusts from a minimum height of approx. 43cm (17 in.) with no elevation, the legs unextended and including the mount, to a maximum height of approx. 135cm (53 in.) with elevator fully open, the legs fully extended and including the mount. The mount has a "T" shaped cutout for adjusting the camera position as well as x-axis and y-axis adjusters and a horizontal vs. vertical orientation if so desired. The tripod is relatively lightweight considering its age and build quality, weighing in at under 1.5Kg.

Just ever-so-slightly kitsch magnetic luminous perpetual calendar, presumed to be made in the 1960s or 1970s in Hong Kong. The case of curved white plastic with textured black reverse houses a calendar which is set using the orange magnet which attaches to the front. The magnet is used to drag a luminous section of orange to the appropriate day name, day number and month. The calendar can either be wall mounted or used via a fold out stand on a desk or table in a standing position.

That's really all there is to it, but we like it. We think someone else will find its simplicity and look to be appealing and fun too.

The calendar measures approximately 24cm by 16cm by 2cm and is in good condition.
