Vintage 1970s Japanese Rhythm Alarm Clock in Light Mushroom Colour

With its elliptical face and curvaceous body, this Rhythm 2 Jewels Alarm clock presents a handsome slice of 1970s design. It would be going too far, perhaps, to call it space age, and also too far, perhaps, to call it minimalist, but it comes close on both counts. The clock face is a metallic bronze-purple colour depending on the angle of the light and there are no digits on it, just metallic pieces with orange detailing. There are flourescent sections to the hour and minute hands and a slim minute hand, as well as alarm time indicator. The clock is in working order and has a pleasant tick which is certainly audible (just in case you require or prefer a silent timepiece). Around the back of the clock are knobs to set the time and the alarm, as well as an adjuster for the accuracy of the clock, and a red push button which serves to activate or deactivate the alarm. The alarm itself is a good old-fashioned ringer which is effective.

The clock measures approximately 14.5 cm (5½ in.) at its widest point, with a height of around 12 cm (4¾ in.) and a depth of 7.5cm (3 in.). It's presented in mostly very good cosmetic condition - the chrome is nice and clean, the body is good aside from a small blemish on the left hand side (see photos), and there's a little bit of dust inside the face.

Vintage Wade “Fern” duo of cup and sandwich plate in red, black and white

A very stylish duo of a sandwich plate and cup made by Wade, in a very 1950s design of red, black and white in the "Fern" pattern. The plate is a truncated slightly oval affair with curved handle-like forms on each end whilst the cup has a deep red interior and sits off-centre in the plate providing room for sandwiches (or biscuits!).

The plate meassures approximately 24cm (9½ in.) in length with a maximum width of approximately 23cm (8¾ in.). The cup has a rim diameter of 9cm (3½ in.) and a height of 6cm (2¼ in.). Both are in good vintage condition with no chips or cracks butthere is some crazing to the glazes as to be expected, and some minor marks/discolouration to the underside of the plate.

French Arcopal Volcan Casserole / Serving Dish in Opaline Glass

A superb vintage piece made in France by Arcopal, part of their distinctive but increasingly uncommon Volcan range, this large oval dish is heavy and toughened, reminiscent of Pyrex glassware. In a striking marbled orange, mustard and caramel brown with a textured finish this dish is not only a very useful kitchen or dining item but it also would make a fabulous decorative piece in its own right.

The dish measures 32cm by 24cm by 6cm (12½in by 9½in by 2½in) and is in excellent condition.

A superb vintage piece made in France by Arcopal, part of their distinctive but increasingly uncommon Volcan range, this large oval dish is heavy and toughened, reminiscent of Pyrex glassware. The dish measures 27cm by 21cm by 5cm (10½in by 8¼in by 2in) and is in excellent condition.

Vintage Papier Mache Box – frog

This black oval papier-maché box with green frog design on top, measuring 3.5cm by 3cm and 1,5cm deep, will charm anyone who likes frogs, green, and/or boxes. The inside and base has a little damage/wear but the exterior more than makes up for that we think.

Elsinore “Lacy” Oval Frame

Made in Denmark, this oval Elsinore frame caught our eye because of its pretty filigree, almost lacy, metal edging and its original glass and insert. It measures 15cm by 12cm, and has a stand.
