Definitely vintage, possibly antique, but certainly only befitting of someone important with a desk to match their status. This large leather effect paper or letter tray has a leather effect finish and a burgundy lining to the base and the underside of the lid. The lid itself is sturdy and ensures no papers are allowed to escape the confines of the tray. It's a combination of wood and a kind of compressed paper board, whilst the knob on the lid is solid wood, so it's solid in construction and feels like it has some quality to it. It has signs of wear and age throughout, but that only adds to the charm and makes it more appealing in situ.

It measures 23.5cm (9¼ in.) across the front, 36cm (14¼ in.) from front to back, and has a height of 6cm (2½ in.).

A very nice-looking vintage desktop paperwork tray in bentwood, made by Mallod, and dating from the 1950s or 1960s. This one has a very pleasing appearance with original cosmetic wear from use and a suitably vintage-looking red Dymo label attached to one side reading "PENDING". It's been cleaned and given a subtle wax to make the most of it, but otherwise left as is. There are signs of use and wear and tear throughout and there's a small chip to the underside near the front. It's not noticeable in normal use and it seems to have occurred some time ago so unlikely to worsen.

The tray measures 26.5cm by 36.5cm by 5.5cm (10½ in. by 14¼in. by 2¼in.)

A double-sided printed advert / flyer for the business of Thornton-Smith antique furniture dealers of Soho Square, London. The front of the advert depicts the "new premises" of Thornton-Smith, dating the advert on or around 1910, with the reverse listing some representative items from their catalogue. It's a single colour print in a terracotta colour which is a very pleasing decorative item as well as an interesting piece of retail paraphenalia.

The paper measures approximately 8¼ in. by 10¾ in. (21cm by 27 cm) with the printed area approximately 7 in. by 9 in. (18cm by 23cm).

A very nice-looking vintage desktop paperwork tray in bentwood, made by Mallod, and dating from the 1950s or 1960s. Ours has a very pleasing appearance with original cosmetic wear from use and a suitably vintage-looking red Dymo label attached to side reading "FOR ACTION". We have not restored the tray in any way except for a clean and a subtle wax. Expect there to be signs of use and wear and tear - we think it's all part of the character of this particular item.

The tray measures 26.5cm by 36.5cm by 5.5cm (10½ in. by 14¼in. by 2¼in.)

A very nicely carved and coloured wooden box, which we believe was originally a cigarette box. In addition to it's floral pattern design, the interior of the box has a very nice pale gold pattern paper/fabric lining in the form of repeating fan shapes.

Suitable either for decoration or as a trinket box, this box is difficult to date and its origins are sketchy, but it looks great and that's good enough for us. It measures 14.5cm by 9.5cm by 5cm (5¾ x 3¾ x 2 in) and is in good condition, barring some wear and tear and a narrow scratch or two. These don't affect the overall aesthetics, and the box and lid hinge are both solid and functional.

You will either love them or hate them, but you certainly can't ignore them! Dating from the 1950s these paper masks of a clown and a painted lady have retained great colours and feature moulded plastic noses and eye holes (still intact). They are approximately 20cm (8in) tall and originally had elastic bands to put over the wearer's ears (now eroded away).

Made in Hong Kong, they probably aren't usable as originally intended due to their age and fragility, but they would make colourful eye-catching display pieces, and could be easily box-framed.
