Mappin & Webb Art Deco Lidded Muffin Dish designed by Keith Murray

An iconic design by Keith Murray, this Mappin & Webb muffin dish with a lid (cloche) features stacked rings in the upper section which are then reflected in the plate itself. Made in silver plate dubbed "Mappin Plate" this one has had a replacement knob added which is reflected in the price of the item. The replacement is from a similar contemporary item and is a very complementary alternative to the lost original. There is some minor superficial wear and a few instances of surface pitting but the overall impression of the muffin dish and its lid is very good indeed.

The dish - which in reality is a plate with separate horizontal and vertical sections and steeper sides - measures approximately 15.5cm (6¼ in.) in diameter, with the sloping sides of the plate measuring 3cm (1¼ in.) and the height of the plate being 2cm (¾ in.). The lid or cloche measures approximately 8cm (3¼ in.) from base to the top of the knob, which itself is a little under 3cm (1¼ in.) tall. The base of the cloche has a diameter of approximately 12cm (4¾ in.)

Chance Brothers “Calypto” Fluted Glass Plate designed by Michael Harris

A large Chance Brothers glass plate in the "Calypto" pattern, designed by Michael Harris and produced in the 1950s. The design has a curved leaf and flower pattern on a lightly fluted and shallow glass plate with gilded edges. This one is in good condition, with minor signs of wear to the edging and minor superficial signs of use to the glass, including some grazing and scratches but not readily noticeable without inspection.

The plate is approximately 24cm (9½ in.) in diameter and approximately 2.5cm (1 in.) in depth.

Gorgeous Poole Pottery “Blue Lace” design serving plate or platter

Designed in 1967 by Guy Sydenham and Tony Morris, this Poole Pottery serving plate or platter has a striking reactive glaze in their "Blue Lace" design. Don't be put off by the name - in reality, the reactive glaze produces an extremely organic and interesting mix of sea blues and greens and darker tones which makes every piece unique. These colour tones are beautifully complemented by the subtle sculpted shape of the form.

This one is in very good condition with no chips or cracks and very little sign of wear, if any at all. It measures 29cm x 25cm x 2cm approximately (11½ in. x 10in. x ¾in.)

Pall Mall Ware “Ride a Cock Horse to Banbury Cross” child’s bowl

Perfect for the collector of nursery rhyme-related items or just as a very nice decorative piece, this Pall Mall Ware dish / bowl for a child features images from "Ride A Cock Horse to Banbury Cross". The bowl is weighted quite heavily and is in very good condition, with only minor imperfections and slight signs of wear. The maker's mark is clear and visible on the base.

The bowl measures 16.5cm (6½ in) in diameter and 3,5cm (1½ in) in height.

Kitsch domed decorative wall plaque – two birds design

This domed decorative plate (for want of a better word) is approximately 25cm (10 in) in diameter and features a black and gold pattern with colourful birds and white blossom. The dome is a clear plastic and the backing is of a plywood style. It's "of its time" and undeniably kitsch and serves absolutely no purpose whatsoever other than to make you stop and admire it in all its glory. We stopped and admired it in all its glory, and ended up buying it. Perhaps you'll do the same?

The dome is a clear plastic and the backing is of a plywood style. It's "of its time" and undeniably kitsch and serves absolutely no purpose whatsoever other than to make you stop and admire it in all its glory. We stopped and admired it in all its glory, and ended up buying it. Perhaps you'll do the same?

Rollamasta Print Plate

An old advertising print plate for a Rollamasta paint roller and tray, in good condition, with signs of having been used for... printing.? Quite a quirky little item for display purposes but heavy enough to have some functional possibilities, e.g. as a paperweight.
