West German Marei Keramik Blue and Brown Floral Handpainted Planter Pot

A gorgeously decorated planter in predominantly navy, cyan, and brown tones with a classic and characteristic cylindrical form, made by Marei Keramik. Dating from the 1970s and stamped "Made In W. Germany, the planter features a textured and incised (sgraffito) ground with a handpainted flowers and leaves design, with a boldly contrasting solid navy blue interior.

This one is in very good condition with no chips or cracks and seemingly little used, although being a vintage piece you should expect minor scuffs and signs of age. It measures approximately 12cm (4¾in.) in height and a similar diameter. It's a solid piece and would serve as originally intended i.e. as a plant pot holder or equally well as a pen, stationery, or utensils pot.

Signed Artist’s Proof of Anne Hathaway’s Cottage by William “Willie” Rawson

Active in the early part of the 20th Century, William "Willie" Rawson (b. 1865. d. 1949) resided in Sheffield and was known for working mainly in the medium of drypoint etching. This particular piece depicting Anne Hathaway's Cottage is indicated as a "limited edition signed artist's proof". The back of the board retains the original label of the Boot's Picture Framing Department.

The artist has signed the piece in pencil. The frame measures 23cm by 31cm (9in by 12¼in) and both the print and the frame remain in good condition, with only minor signs of ageing.

Three Original Pen and Ink Drawings signed “P.G.B.”

Three very deftly executed original drawings believed to be dating from the 1930s in pen and ink on small cards, depicting rural scenes of cottages, a river and a church. Each piece is signed "P.G.B." and measures 13.5cm x 10 cm (5 3/8 in by 4 1/8 in). We have added a suitable clip frame which has been given a grey "wash" effect to complement the drawings. The cards are in good condition, albeit with some yellowing from age. Very nice little pieces from clearly a very talented but unknown artist!
