An uusual - and in unusually good condition - illuminated slide viewer with magnifying lens on the front which turns it into a rather quirky and subtle piece of lighting, suitable for a shelf, or just to admire as an interesting object when not illuminating. This is a "Hunter Viewer", a grey metal cased box with a large (6cm by 6cm) square lens on the front which magnifies the flat screen, and a stand to the rear for propping the unit up. The lamp is powered by three "D" size batteries, with a switch down the side of the box. It seems likely to date from the 1950s.

A little bit different and although not recommended for it's original purpose or as a fully-fledged light, definitely something of a conversation piece!
