Vintage Thorn TDRN100 White Space Age Style Spotlight Desk Lamp

One for the minimalists, this is a Thorn TDRN100 desk lamp which has more than a hint of space-age styling about it. It's a simple affair - a tubular bulb holder on a vertical stand with a no-frills tightening knob, and a simple circular base, all in stylish white with a smooth gloss finish. Topped off with a good reflector spotlight bulb (large screw fitting) and a contrasting orange power cable, and you have a sleek and modern light which says less is more.

The vertical stand measures approximately 38cm (15 in.), and the circular base has a diameter of 17cm (6¾ in.) and a height of 2.5cm (1 in.) In very good and fully working condition. A reflector bulb is included with the item. Please note, there is no power switch on this lamp in its current state.

Classic 80s Red Clamp Fitting Gooseneck Desk or Shelf Lamp by Ring Lighting

A classic design of the 1980s and de rigeur for your red, black and grey bedroom back in the day! A Ring Lighting clamp-fitting spotlight lamp suitable for mounting to your desk or to a shelf and shining on your collection of tapes, your boombox,... you get the idea ;)

In bright red with black clamp and cabling it's a great-looking lamp in good condition. A few minor grazes to the metal shade around the rim and a couple of weaknesses to the red plastic tubing which covers the gooseneck but otherwise in good shape. At full extent the gooseneck measures approximately 36 cm (14 in.) and the main part of the shade measures approximately 12cm (4¾ in.) in diameter with a depth of 7cm (2¾ in.) The bulb holder takes a small screw style bulb.

Vintage Paragon Focus-Spot Photographic Enlarger Shade

Ripe for upcycling or re-purposing, this shade from a Paragon Focus-Spot Universal Enlarger offers a distinctive shape, a cool black and white interior and aluminium exterior colour scheme, and a retaining rod ready for clamping to a stand or suspending to form a new light fixture. The shade features its original label and at the end of the retaining rod the holder takes a standard bayonet bulb. Overall, the shade has very appealing signs of age and use for that industrial or minimalist look.

The shade measures approximately 24cm (9½ in.) in length with an opening of approximately 20cm (8 in.). The retaining rod allows the bulb holder to be positioned along a length of approximately 8cm (3 in.) inside the shade and is held in place via three small knurled screws at the rear of the shade. The lamp will require rewiring and safety-checked in whatever form it is used.

Peter Nelson FA2 Desktop Lamp/Spotlight in handspun aluminium (1960s)

Designed by Peter Nelson for the Architectural Lighting Company in 1967. Peter Nelson was the founder and designer at Architectural Lighting Company having learned his trade in the aerospace industry before starting to make lighting in 1961. This FA2 desk light is now considered an iconic design piece of the era and you can certainly see why!

The spotlight has a hand spun polished aluminium and chrome plated tubular steel base, stem, shade and bulb holder and distinctive encased switch holder. The height and angle of the shade and bulb holder are adjustable along the length of the stem.

Dimensions: Height of upright stem: 62cm. Length of shade and bulb holder: 20.5cm. Diameter of shade: 10cm. Diameter of base: 17.5 cm.

The light is in full working order and good condition with only minor blemishes to the aluminium consistent with a used 50 year old item. The switch has been renovated with a metric replacement part because the original Imperial part had become brittle and the switch housing fixings have been re-threaded to allow the housing to be adjusted as per its original design via an Allen Key (provided).

Small Cream/Light Beige Enamel Desk Lamp

Dating, we believe, from the 1970s (possibly even as far back as the 1960s), this British-made small cream/light beige metal enamel finished desk lamp has a chrome retort stand, adjustable height and angle shade, and a rubberised base to avoid scratching your surfaces. It has an inline power switch and has been fully PAT Tested. There are a couple of minor scratches to the enamel but nothing drastic and certainly nothing that would put us off, personally. Overall, this lamp packs quite a bit of vintage punch despite its diminutive size.

The lamp is approximately 34cm in height and the base is 12cm in diameter. The power cable is 1.3m long.
