Mid-Century Large Wood Handled Stainless Steel Servers / Set of Tongs

A very attractive set of Mid-Century Modern servers in stainless steel with wood - possibly teak - handles. What's nice about this set is that the servers can be used independently one in each hand or, when joined together (via a mechanism at the top of the handles), as a set of tongs which can be used in one hand. So a stylish design, yes, but also very usable especially with this clever bit of convertability.

Each server is approximately 32cm (12½ in.) in length. In very good, barely used if at all, condition and in their original box, which does have a few signs of age and wear.

Large Modernist Stainless Steel Salt and Pepper Pots by WMF Germany

A pair of - frankly - oversized salt and pepper pots made by WMF (the artist formerly known as "Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik") of Germany. They are beautifully sculpted from stainless steel with a form which resembles something like a brutalist hourglass, and they are indeed large (almost 8cm / 3in. in height and 6.5 / 2½ in. in diameter). They're a bold statement.

There's not much more to be said - you'll probably either love them or hate them. They are in good condition with the odd surface scratch, and a screw stopper base to allow for re-filling. And just in case you are wondering, the two pots are indeed different from one another in terms of which is salt and which is pepper. The former has larger holes from which it dispenses...

Modernist Style Vintage Stainless Steel Rounded Square Dish

A striking small stainless steel dish with more than a hint of Danish modernist style to it, but made in Hong Kong by KH. The dish, which is stamped underneath with design no. s-873, has an overall rounded square form with a circular base and interior, with bevelling to the outside lip edges and subtlely smoothed interior. In very good overall condition with minor superficial scratches and signs of wear, but nothing which catches the eye or detracts from the otherwise striking form.

The dish measures approximately 12.5 cm square (5 in.) with a depth of 2cm (¾ in.). The circular rim has a diameter of 9.5cm (3¾ in.) and the base has a diameter of 5cm (2 in.)

Arthur Salm Teak and Stainless Steel “Kalmar” Fruit Bowl Mid Century AS Sweden

As much a piece of sculpture as it is a piece of tableware, this "Kalmar" fruit bowl made for Arthur Salm (AS Sweden) makes an elegant statement in stainless steel and teak about design simplicity and use of materials. Introduced in the late 1950s, the bowl consists of a main curve of steel met by teak side panels and feet with gentle curves and hinted reflections, whilst the curved edges of the wood contrast with the stark extents of metal. A superb piece of design which would grace any home, but particularly one with a Scandinavian influence.

Ours is in good condition, with some scratches to the stainless steel as to be expected from a functional item such as this, and with some minor markings to the wood panels. We should also note that the head of one of the screws underneath the feet which attach them to the main steel curve seems to have been damaged in the past. We have not attempted to remove the screw and it is unlikely that there would ever be a need to remove the feet, but the buyer should be aware of this minor defect. The maker's mark is present on the underside of the steel with some minor wear to it, but still visible.

The outer extents of the bowl measure approximately 26.5cm (10½ in.) lengthways, 25cm (10 in.) widthways, and 11.5cm (½ in.) from base to rim. The inner part, so to speak, measures approximately 22cm (8½ in.) by 19.5cm (7½ in.) by 7cm (2¾ in.)

Large Stainless Steel Firth “Staybrite” Photo Frame 11in. x 14in.

A minimalistic but rather elegant large stainless steel photograph frame made by Firth under the "StayBrite" brand. The frame is in good condition and will house a photograph of 11 inches by 14 inches. It has a wooden backing with stand and fixtures for either horizontal or vertical hanging.

Danish Modernist Stainless Steel Four Candle Holder made by MG

A stunning piece of modernist style tableware, made in Denmark and stamped with the maker's name "MG", this candle holder features four individual stainless steel "holders" for candles with elegant verticals criss-crossing to meet a typically-shaped slim base. A very minimalistic and elegant piece for decorative or practical use which we think would make a great centrepiece.

Base diameter 10cm / 4 in.
Candle Holder opening 3cm / 1 1/8 in.
Candle Holder base 1.5cm / 5/8 in.

In excellent condition, with only some minor scratching to the stainless steel base which is to be expected for an item of this type and age. The underside of the base has the original, but indistinct, retail label on it.

Vintage Japanese Stainless Steel Serving Fork and Spoon with stylised Tulip Design

A very stylish and shapely set of a serving fork and spoon, made in Japan from stainless steel. These mid-century style serving implements are nicely decorated with a stylised tulip design along the length and on both sides of the handles.

In very good condition and eminently usable, the fork and spoon measure approximately 26cm (10¼in.).

Lundtofte style stainless steel candle holders

Almost certainly inspired by a similar Lundtofte set, these stainless steel candle holders are the epitome of Danish mid-Century design. The curved three-sided shape remains stylish and would look at home in a contemporary setting.

Both holders are in excellent condition and measure approximately 8 cm (3 in) at their maximum extents, with a height of 2.5 cm (1 in). The holders take a candle with a 12mm (½ in) diameter and we will include two of these (pictured) with your purchase.

1960s Danish Lundtofte 3-piece condiment set with tray

A stylish mid-century salt, pepper and mustard condiment set which was designed by Lundtofte of Denmark and was sold in the 1960s (in fact, we can date this one precisely to 1967). The set features a rosewood tray with insets for each piece, matching stainless steel salt and pepper shakers with rosewood bases, and a stainless steel mustard pot with a teak top and matching spoon. Complete and in excellent condition with only minor signs of use, this set is visually appealing and would make a fine addition to any dining environment. It almost goes without saying that this condiment set is the perfect complement to Danish furniture or tableware.

The tray measures 18cm (7in) in length with a maximum width of 7cm (2¾in), and each shaker is 7cm (2¾in) high.
