Framed Vintage 1990s Selectadisc Record Shop Plastic Bag – Nottingham London

OK, so it might not quite qualify strictly as "vintage" but it certainly feels like a piece of memorabilia from a bye-gone age now. If you were a teenager in Nottingham or its surrounding area in the 1980s or 1990s, then you might immediately recognise this bag. As iconix as the shop fronts which bore the same design, perhaps. This bag dates slightly later than the original Nottingham shop(s), as it include the later Soho London store's details. The same store which featured on the cover of Oasis' 1995 album "(What's The Story) Morning Glory?".

The bag - measuring 34cm by 39cm - has been paired with a pre-owned Sixtrees frame which has a plain white surround and provides a suitable and understated complement to the bag and the record shop branding.

Myers Systemrack 66 Plastic Record Storage Racks in White (Three)

Both stylish and practical, these "Systemrack 66" vinyl record (or magazine) storage racks were made by Myers from the 1970s onwards, until around the 1990s. Each interlocking section provides enough space (5cm - 2in. ) to store approximately 15 12-inch LP records and about 20 7-inch singles with that doubled for the reversed sections. Each rack section is approximately 19cm (7½ in.) square, with the four sections combining to form a length of 16cm (6¼ in.) approximately.

In good overall condition with no cracks but slightly discoloured in places from age, but not noticeably so and certainly not in a way which detracts from the general look of the racks.

Pair of 1950s Vinyl Covered Beech Framed Stools

A matching pair of original and unusually shaped low stools, probably intended for a kitchen, with beech frames dating from the 1950s. The seats are not square, instead tapering slightly from back to front and the legs extend to very pleasing ball feet. The stools have their original vinyl covers which are intact but which are not in the best state (see photo), with some paint marks and minor tear damage. Although we loved the original covers, we have treated the stools to a fresh Scandinavian-style design in olive green, blue and brown on a white background, but left the original covers underneath should the buyer wish to use them.

The stools have been carefully cleaned, sanded and waxed.

Vintage Paddock Tidy Anti-Warp Record Storage

Probably a "must-have" item for any discerning collector of vinyl back-in-the-day, this Paddock Tidy made by Power Judd promised anti-warp storage for those carefully procured and precious discs. It features two curved diamond shaped spring-loaded vertical "shelves" in between two guitar body shaped end panels - well, why not!? The end result for the present day collector is a very effective method of storage with the extra appeal of truly vintage looks - we reckon this is a 1960s-era or early 70s item.

The entire unit is easily disassembled and re-assembled - via rounded bolts, screws, gripping collars and metal supports. The metal and ply sections are all in good shape considering their age, but with signs of use particularly to the end plates where there is some superficial wear and tear. Functionally, however, it's all good news. The springs have good tension and as you can see from our photos, it does exactly what it says it should. According to a review: "The [...] self-adjusting panels in a Paddock 'tidy' hold records upright and pressed together in a neat and tidy condition. Whether it holds 1 or 100 records, each one is held upright with the correct pressure applied, yet allowing easy removal or replacement of records."

The final assembled unit measures approximately 34cm (13½ in) high, 30 cm (12in) from front to back and 20cm (8in) width. It packs flat to just a few centimetres in height.

1950s Elbief (“LBF”) Green and Gold Clutch Bag

A very stylish evening purse/clutch bag made by Elbief (a.k.a "LBF") in England and dating from the 1950s. This sophisticated looking bag has a flecked green and gold fabric body with chic black vinyl sides and a shiny gold-coloured lining. The bag is finished off with a gold-coloured metal clasp and top and it's all in very good shape considering its age and the clasp is sturdy and secure. The metal is showing one or two signs of use, but when you look this sharp overall you're allowed a bit of latitude!

Measures 20cm by 10cm by 2.5cm at its widest (8in by 4in by 1in).
