An absolutely charming wooden toy car, in a well-worn played-with condition which only adds to its appeal. Most likely made in England by Escor - though it is missing the characteristic oval sticker which would have been affixed to the bonnet - it is believed to date from the 1960s. Later models by Escor have a different wheel design, so this would seem to be an earlier model. The body of the car is actually in reasonably good condition, with most of the wear being on the recesses for the figures and on the black wheels. The figures are more play worn, but appear to be a man, a woman, a child and a dog. They "sit" in the car nicely and don't have any significant defects, though the paint is very worn - in the case of the dog figure particularly so.

It would make a great display item and it certainly has character in abundance!

An unusual small square mirror in black and mustard yellow tones with a Japanese style and theme - a circular design inside the square with a lady, fan and tree. In good vintage condition with just a couple of minor scratches to the front of the mirror which doesn't severely affect its use or its good looks. The rear of the mirror is plain black with a small hanging fixture.

The mirror measures 20cm (8 in.) square and is approximately 5mm (¼ in.) deep, not including the hanging fixture.

This wooden carved figure of an old woman is a quirky little vintage item which was made by Paul Caron or the Caron family who hailed from Quebec, Canada. It's a great example of the folk art style. The carving is signed and our research indicates it is either by Paul Caron himself or was made by the family company of the same name shortly after his death. Later products by the company appear to have a different form of signature, so we believe this to be an early model.

It measures 8 in / 20cm high and is in good condition, albeit with minor wear and tear consistent with age and materials.

For those times when lightweight salt cellars won't do, we present to you a cast iron salt cellar. For those times when simple salt cellars won't do, we present to you a cast iron salt cellar formed of a woman and her baby in a cot. The salt flows from the back of the woman's head and from the foot of the cot. Well, you would, wouldn't you?

We're not sure, but it appears this lady is from the Low Countries and although it's rude to ask a woman her age, we reckon she's got more than a few miles on the clock.

The cot measures approximately 6cm (2¼ inches) in length and 2cm (¾ inches) in width and has rather flaky paint. The lady measures approximately 6cm (2¼ inches) in height with a maximum width of 5cm (2 inches) and she's in slightly better shape, looks-wise. Stoppers are present on both.
