A subtle but very attractive small bowl or dish which was made in Hong Kong, featuring a low profile and rounded square design, and with a beautiful endgrain finish reminiscent of the collaboration between Denby and Digsmed in their "Stone & Teak" range. This is almost certainly teak too and has a very mid-century aura - more than simply functional, this 6-inch (15cm) square form makes a statement all of its own... under-statement, really.

in good condition, with just some minor superficial signs of age use, the bowl has its original label affixed underneath, and has an overall depth of 1 in. (2.5cm).

A fabulous compact mid-century "IW3" rocking chair of beech construction and in a black and natural wood finish. It was designed by Illum Wikkelso for Niels Eilersen of Denmark and it most likely dates from the 1960s. The chair was produced from the late 1950s onwards. The original maker's label can be found underneath the seat. It's a very attractive and striking design and is more compact and stylish than most rocking chairs, and very typical of Wikkelso design.

The seat of the chair has been re-painted black with a satin finish and waxed and shows some signs of wear. It could be re-painted/stripped if required. The rest of the chair is in original natural wood finish. The chair has signs of both age and use throughout - it's at least 50 years old and so it's to be expected that it should have superfical grazes, bumps and scrapes. The runners have at some stage had rubber protection applied to them. Some of the rubber remains in places but for the most part it has perished.

Dimensions:

Depth (extremities, front to back): 73cm
Height: 94cm
Width (widest point): 59cm
Seat Height (front, resting): 44cm
Seat Height (back, resting): 34cm
Seat Depth: 45cm

A stunning highly stylised carved wood bird which is believed to date from the Mid-Century period. Most likely teak and probably a long-tailed tit, this is an expertly realised piece with great attention to the grain and to the form. It is typical of mid-century modern stylised decorative wood carving and is a superb and uncommon example of its type.

The bird measures approximately 30cm (12 in.) from tip of the tail to the beak. with a height of 9cm (3½ in.). It is In excellent condition with no chips to the form, just some very minor wear to the flat "base".

Known as the "maze" vase, the Frantizek Visner-designed glass vase by Sklo Union is rather emblematic of its time - and a good-looking piece for now too. It's a chunky piece measuring approximately 25 cm high (10 in.) with a base measuring 10cm (4 in.) which reflects and refracts light in interesting ways with its deeply pressed glass pattern coming to the fore.

In excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.

A very attractive-looking butchers block-style trivet or serving board produced by Denby as part of their "Stone and Teak" range. Handcrafted in Denmark in collaboration with Digsmed, the range of products were intended to be complementary and showcase each partner's skills. In this case, there's no stone, just beautifully crafted endgrain teak in a Danish modern style, just some subtle curves to the shape in order for the wood to speak for itself.

In very good, clean, condition with some minor signs of use as one might expect from an item of this type - surface blade marks, etc. - but no chips or dents, and with plenty of life left in it. Original makers stamp to the underside. It measures approximately 25 cm by 15 cm by 2.5 cm (10 in. x 6 in. x 1 in.)

A very attractive set of Mid-Century Modern servers in stainless steel with wood - possibly teak - handles. What's nice about this set is that the servers can be used independently one in each hand or, when joined together (via a mechanism at the top of the handles), as a set of tongs which can be used in one hand. So a stylish design, yes, but also very usable especially with this clever bit of convertability.

Each server is approximately 32cm (12½ in.) in length. In very good, barely used if at all, condition and in their original box, which does have a few signs of age and wear.

A fine looking pair of DIGSMED small glass storage or spice jars with teak tops dating from the 1960s and made in Denmark. They don't seem to be oddments from a spice rack set and appear to have been sold separately. Evidence of this is provided by the fact that they still have original labels attached - the maker's label and some other label which would seem to either be an item identifier or a shop label.

Both jars have metal screw top lids which are capped with a very mid-century modern style teak. The larger of the two - measuring about 10cm (4 in.) high with a diameter of 7cm (2¾ in.) has "1/8 Kg" embossed to the base which is also where its maker's sticker is. The snaller of the two - measuring about 10cm (4 in.) high with a diameter of 5.5cm (2 1/8 in.) - has no such embossing and its marker's sticker is on the side. The smaller jar has a slightly lighter tone to the wooden "cap". Both jars are in very good condition - no chips or cracks to the glass and the wood is similarly good. Both have some tarnishing to the metal interiors.

If you like things nice and simple, but stylish too, and you need a wall clock that will look the part in almost any room, then this Swiss-made Remington might just be the thing. An uncompromisingly minimalist design, consisting of an out-sized white square with a streamlined dial and hands (simple black hands for hours and minutes, and a red hand for seconds), behind a square slab of clear plastic. It ticks all the boxes (sorry for the pun!) when it comes to clarity and readability. Perfect for the office, for the kitchen, in fact anywhere, though it should be noted that this is not a silent sweep clock: it emits a gentle ticking sound.

The clock measures 19cm by 19cm with a depth of approximately 5cm when hung (7½ in. square by 2in. deep) and takes a size "C" battery. It is in fully working condition and has an adjuster dial to maintain its time-keeping. In terms of condition, there are some flaws though they are not immediately noticeable (we think). There is some minor discolouration to the face from sun exposure, and the perspex front has some minor scratches, but more seriously damage has been inflicted to the underside of the clock's case plastics. Please see the photos for more information. Repairs have been made to the case and it has been resprayed, so you would be hard-pushed to notice these flaws in ordinary use. We think it's a good repair job - both cosmetically and structurally - but the buyer should be aware before purchasing. With this in mind, reasonable offers are welcomed on this item.

Sometimes - and perhaps erroneously - attributed to Guy Rogers and sold by Heals Department store, this small teak magazine rack was more likely produced by Fyne Ladye Furniture of Banbury. It's a great little example of mid-century style and eminently usable. The teak structure comprises of two sub-divided compartments and the proportions and styling are very much in-keeping with Danish/modern influences.

The rack is in good used condition with some very small signs of wear and tear but generally very presentable indeed. It measures approximately 51cm (length) by 20cm (depth) by 35cm (height) (20 in. by 8 in. by 14 in.)
