An outstanding Glastonbury chair of undetermined age but firmly in the style of A. W. Pugin. The chair has impressive bulk and dimensions, with an uncompromising relation of form and function which reflects the Pugin original and other examples of this quintessential piece of English furniture made during the Arts and Crafts era.

We cannot, as is often the case, be absolutely sure of the age of this furniture - it may be Edwardian or a later copy. Having said that, this Glastonbury chair appears to be of aged condition, with wear and tear to be expected with an item of some age. In this case, the wear and tear and ageing of the wood only adds to its look. Even if considered to be a reproduction then this chair should still have substantial (pun intended!) appeal.

This vintage oak panel originated from a now disused church and features a charmingly naive painted scene, depicting a stylised green hilly landscape with a river and bridge. The colours are strong and the artist clearly had some skill in execution. It is a highly unusual piece with considerable decorative appeal.

The wood panel measures 23cm by 38cm (9 x 15 in.) and is approximately 2cm (¾ in.) thick, and appears to be of some age. The painted portion of the panel measures 13cm by 19cm (5 x 7.5 in.). The work is unsigned. There are no fixings for wall hanging, but they could easily be added by the purchaser.

A fabulous looking tie press from the people who supplied Wile E. Coyote (possibly!) and dating from the 1930s. In a superb oak finish, it comes complete with the insert sections, but no tie unless we can find one to throw in with it!
