The lamp stand measures approximately 23cm (9 in.) high (including the bulb holder) and the base has a diameter of 12.5cm (5 in.). Please note: the glass shade pictured is of a later design and is for display only.  Should you wish to pair it with the lamp stand, and buy both, please get in touch.  This items has not been electrically tested, so please be aware that it requires attention and inspection before use. There is a slight wobble to the top of the lamp stand where the bulb holder fits, but this should be an easy fix and doesn't affect the lamp in normal use.

The wood arms have been gently oiled to bring out their original colour. One of the lower arms has what appears to be a burn mark on it, but barring that, they are in good solid condition as are the wingnuts and metal fixtures. The metal shade bracket is slightly misshapened, but the shade itself has kept its shape and only has a few minor grazes to show for it's 60+ years of age and use, and the base is in similar condition. The bulb holder has been replaced like-for-like.

A good example of an iconic lamp and increasingly difficult to find in original condition.  As with all electrical products, buyers are urged to have the lamp inspected and safety-checked prior to installation.

In excellent original overall condition and working, with minimal signs of any wear and tear. The glass is predominantly very good indeed with only some minor grazes to it. The rear plastic cover over the mechanism does have a crack but this could be fixed and it certainly doesn't affect the operation of the clock at all.

The chair is in original unrestored visual condition, with ageing and wear to the vinyl (notably for some reason to the green stripes which are much subtler than they would have been) but we have refreshed the padding with new foam to the seat and backrest so that it is at least a lot more functional and comfortable than when it came to us!  There is a small tear to the vinyl on the front side of the seat (pictured) which doesn't affect the look of the chair in any way and we don't think it will deteriorate further.  The chair is structurally very solid, so if a purchaser would prefer to completely re-cover the chair, then it's on a firm foundation that they would be doing so.

Sidney George Hedges was a British author of books and articles on swimming, games and hobbies for young people, and was especially active in the 1930's. We have mounted the board into a clip frame measuring 30cm by 24cm (12 in by 9½ in) with an appropriate colour backing paper. The board itself has a charmingly irregular shape (measuring approx. 21.5 cm by 22.0 cm / 8½ in by 8¾ in) but it is in good condition and the colours remain good. The buyer may wish to pursue a more permanent framing solution, but we think it looks great just as it is. Perfect for the swimmer or swimming fan or just for its aesthetic appeal!
