Rare, linen bound, children's educational picture book "People We All Know" by E.R. Boyce with illustrations by Norman Meredith. Believed to be published in the mid-1950s, the book features ten full colour plates charmingly depicting various occupations and jobs, ranging from postman to nurses. Each page measures approximately 24.5cm by 18cm (9¾in by 7in.)

The book is generally in fair to good condition considering its age. The outer linen cover has some minor fraying and some creasing and a name at the top right corner, whilst the interior pages are in good condition with good vibrant colours and only very minor discoloration in places.

Offers are invited on this item.

A rare book illustrated with chromolitho plates by H. H. Couldery of F. E. Weatherly's "Dame Pussy's School" published in 1888.

The book is 12 pages in length with 5 chromolitho plates, measuring 15cm x 11 cm (6in. by 4in.). The book was printed in Bavaria, Germany and published by Hildersheimer and Faulkner (London) and George C. Whitney (New York).

The author Frederic E. Weatherly is responsible for writing the songs "Danny Boy", "Roses of Picardy" and "Holy City" as well as being the author of the first work featuring signed Beatrix Potter illustrations. Henry Horatio Couldery was a noted artist and illustrator, famous particularly for his works depicting cats, dogs and other animals in mischevious and characterful manner.

The book shows signs of age and some general yellowing/foxing to the paper, but considering its age it is in remarkably goodand solid condition.

This 1960s Victory Puzzle Clock was originally a time teacher and jigsaw combined. It is made of plywood with colourful images on the front, the outer ring illustrating the four seasons and the inner ring depicting activities from childhood during the day, ranging from breakfast to bedtime stories, mostly school-related.

This item originally had some significant wear to the middle, where a smiling sun face illustration is found - notably there is also a hole in the same area, just to the left and above the hole intended for the hands. We have replaced the original movable hands with a new fully working clock mechanism powered by an AA battery to convert the puzzle into an actual clock. We have glued the pieces of the jigsaw in place and also used a clear matt Rust-o-leum top coat finish to protect the face from further damage or wear.

The clock measures 22.5cm by 23.5 cm (8¾in by 9¼in). The depth of the clock is 1cm (½ in) not including the mechanism/battery compartment, which protrudes by a similar amount at the back. No fixings are provided, as we expect this item to be shelf-standing but your own fixings could be easily added.
