A glass and plastic cruet set in a light green colour, which is comprised of two salt and pepper pots and two bottles for oil and vinegar, which sit in a "caddy" style stand with handle. Made by "Araven" of Zaragoza, Spain, it probably dates from the 1980s. In good condition, with some minor signs of age and wear.

For reference, the stand measures 19cm (7½ in.) in height, with the stand approximately 13.5cm (5¼ in.) square, and the two larger bottles are approximately 15cm tall (6 in.) with a diameter of 5cm (2 in.).

A very attractive set of Mid-Century Modern servers in stainless steel with wood - possibly teak - handles. What's nice about this set is that the servers can be used independently one in each hand or, when joined together (via a mechanism at the top of the handles), as a set of tongs which can be used in one hand. So a stylish design, yes, but also very usable especially with this clever bit of convertability.

Each server is approximately 32cm (12½ in.) in length. In very good, barely used if at all, condition and in their original box, which does have a few signs of age and wear.

A set of "Minibrix" which were an all-rubber construction toy dating from the mid 1930s, made by the Premo Rubber Company. The building system pre-dates Lego but enshrined some of the principles of the latter, whilst being made of rubber rather than plastic. The interlocking technique of the blocks - moulded rubber recesses and matching nodes - is accompanied by roofs which are a single hinged piece of rubber. Sloping pieces allow for the fixing of these latter items.

This is a fairly comprehensive set, but it is not known if it is complete. What is included is a good selection of over a hundred bricks in good condition, with a few having damage to their rubber but still usable, two roofs, an illustrated "instruction manual" (/catalogue) and the original box. The box itself is quite dull in colour and has some surface losses but is reasonable considering it's likely to be over 80 years old.

It doesn't get much more "80s" than this...! A must-have for any self-respecting desktop in the decade that brought us the New Romantics, shoulder pads, lycra and leg warmers, t-shirt slogans, and the Memphis Style, this is the Merit Magic Cube. A cube of black plastic which contains a variety of colourful stationery items/tools cleverly integrated into the shape. Whether they were actually usable or practical is a debateable point, but the angular and colourful design now looks incredibly retro and is very appealing. The cube is complete in terms of the tools (tape dispenser, pen, clock, knife, scissors, tape measure, magnetic paper clip holder) but the pen and clock might need attention (new ink and battery respectively), and it comes with the original box. The eagle-eyed will note that a corner piece can be removed to set the cube at a jaunty angle, too!

Must-have? Probably not, but this is a super little item which represents an era almost perfectly... and there can't be very many of them still around in this condition.

Uncommon on the eastern side of the Atlantic, the Hasbro Astrolite was a more common sight in US households of the late 1960s and 1970s. It features a large (34cm / 13½ in. square) raised platform inside of which a light and a rotatable colour wheel provides illumination through the holes and slits in the platform. A large set of clear plastic pieces can be placed into the holes and connected together using rubber "sleeves" to construct futuristic towers, pillars, pipes and other structures. The overall effect of the clear plastic and the coloured lights shining and reflecting through is difficult to describe but it's impressive especially in a low light environment. The photos are perhaps the best descriptors.

As can be seen, this Astrolite is fully functional. Originally used with a US power source, a transformer is provided with this unit to allow it to be used with a UK three-pin 240V power supply. Included with the set is a variety of clear pieces and rubber connectors - not a complete set, but certainly enough to have plenty of fun with! (please get in touch if you would like a list of what is included). There are unfortunately some broken pieces which are also present, most of which can nonetheless be used in some form. The outer box is rather tatty but is nice to have. The inner accessory storage box has been covered in clear tape, but again, it's nice to have it.

A very charming and colourful children's handicraft compendium by Berwick Toys and dating from the 1950s-60s. This vintage compendium includes a sewing kit, embroidery kit, french knitting bobbin, a loom and a tapestry set. Remarkably, it all seems to be complete and unused, and so is perhaps a rare find! The original instructions are included and the outer box is in good condition considering its age.

Wonderful styling and made of high quality fine bone china, these Elizabethan "Carnaby" design coffee cans/mugs and cup/saucer/side plate trios simply exude "retro"- they are delicate without being fussy. This is the "No. 2" design in blue with brown detailing which we think is a very appealing combination indeed.

They are in very good condition with only minor signs of wear and no chips or cracks - the maker's mark is clear and legible on each.

Coffee cans/mugs measure approximately 8cm in height (3¼in) with a diameter on the rim of 7cm (2¾in).
Cups measure approximately 7cm (2¾ in.) with a diameter on the rim of 8cm in (3¼in).
Saucers are approximately 14.5cm (5¾ in.) in diameter.
Sideplates are approxiately 16.5cm (6½ in.) in diameter.
