One of the most desirably kitsch tins we've come across, this small Sharp's Toffee tin features a colourfully illustrated lid of a young boy feeding the pigeons. Illustrated by Cora E. M. Paterson, we suspect the original image was from an earlier children's book illustration. The tin features a reference of royal appointment to the late King George VI, which would seem to date the tin to 1952 or slightly thereafter.

The photos of the item tell the rest of the story, but the tin is approximately 13cm by 9cm by 3cm (5in. by 3½in. by 1¼in.). There is some minor paint loss and wear and tear and some slight deformations in the shape but overall this tin is in very good, used, condition.

Most likely dating from the 1930s, this large Art Deco inspired Bluebird Toffee tin has you guessed it, a bluebird design on top! An impressive and very decorative tin which features an interior lid which is every bit as appealing as the outer which, with it's gold- and blue-coloured sections, makes quite a bold statement for what was essentially a confectionary container!

In generally very good condition considering its age and usage, this tin measures 22cm by 18cm by 11.5cm (8¾ x 7 x 4½ inches). There's obvious cosmetic wear, but it's structurally sound and the lid fits nice and tightly. A fine example of its type.

Arrr! A superb example of a pirate-themed confectionery tin, dating from the 1970s, and once containing Blue Bird (not Blue Beard) Toffee. The tin is in great condition inside and out for its age - the colours remain vivid and bright and the metals shiny - and the illustrations are charming, making it ideal for the collector or for re-purposing in a contemporary way, especially for a children's gift or decor.

The tin measures approx. 3 3/4" (9.75cm) in diameter x 3 1/2" (9cm) tall.

This large (24cm by 13cm by 4.5cm) Sharp's toffee tin has a vivid orange and purple colour scheme with boats at sunset theme on the lid. Its underside shows its origins: Edward Sharp & Sons. of Kreemy Works (yes!), Maidstone, England. Sharp's was one of Britain's foremost confectionery manufacturers by the middle of the 20th Century - and it's likely the tin originally contained toffee, for which the company was noted.
