Vintage Anglepoise Lighting Model 99 Gooseneck Desk Lamp in White

A very appealing Model 99 Gooseneck Desklamp made by Anglepoise with that very distinctive shade shape. Already one of our favourite desklamps, and in many ways now a classic, in our opinion. Very functional and good-looking and with minimal loss of space. Perfect for a small desk or corner illumination. This one is predominantly white with black accents to the base, gooseneck and switch.

Overall in very good condition, with only some signs of wear and age, notably some minor surface loss / scrapes. These are less significant when in actual use and the lamp displays well and is an attractive desk light as well as highly practical.

Handsome Vintage Stainless Steel and Black Metamec Battery Quartz Clock

A very handsome Metamec mantle or desk clock, with a very modernist style which would not look out of place in any mid-century inspired interior. With its ridged metal surround, simple silver-coloured face with Roman Numerals, and black accents, this clock certainly is an unfussy and stylish timepiece.

In very good cosmetic condition and fully working, the clock takes a "C"-size battery. It has a ticking second hand, but not a load or unpleasant ticking sound by any means.

The base measures 8cm by 5cm, with an overall height of 16.5cm and depth of 5.5cm. The face diameter is approximately 15cm.

Small Micronta Desktop LCD Display Digital Alarm Clock and Thermometer 63-9010

A small battery-powered Micronta LCD clock which has a few tricks up its err... small sleeves. This relatively uncommon unit dates from the 1980s and is mainly brown plastic with silver tone panels. It measures just 8cm square with a height of 7cm. There is an alarm and snooze function, with options for either 12-hour or 24-hour clock display formats, and a thermometer which provides a temperature reading in either Degrees Celsius or Fahrent units. And it has a small light too to illuminate the display.
We think you'd agree that all is quite a lot crammed into such a small package.

1970s Orange and White Circular Plastic Desk Tidy / Pen Holder

Who doesn't like a desk tidy? We certainly like them, and this one is a nice example of the sort, made in Hong Kong and dating from the 1970s. It's a circular plastic tidy which has a diameter of about 13cm and a height of 5.5cm, with four compartments in the body which pull out on single hinges, four tray sections on top, and a central pen holder. Typically orange and white colours (though the white is somewhat cream now), this makes a pleasing addition to a desktop. Please note, pens, pencils, rubber bands, etc., pictured are not included.

Large Mushroom Colour Brass Gooseneck Maclamp Table Lamp

A brass gooseneck desk or table lamp made by Maclamp which probably dates from the early 1970s in a familiar mushroom colour (a dark cream tone, if you prefer) which is quite notable for its size. Much larger than some of the Maclamps of the period, this particular model stands almost 60cm (24 in.) tall when the neck is extended vertically. Also of note is that the gooseneck on this lamp also extends all the way from the shade to the base - there is no rigid portion at all. The lamp has a standard Maclamp base (approximately 15cm / 6 in. in diameter) with a switch, and over 2m (6 ft) of cable.

In very good condition with just some minor signs of age and wear. The lamp takes a standard "bayonet" style bulb,

Small White Gooseneck Desk Lamp by Maclamp for Habitat – 1970s

A very cool looking small desk lamp made by Maclamp (designed by Terence Conran most likely) in a rather space-age style with a mostly white finish - the shade being metal and the base having a plastic cover - and a black gooseneck. The lamp has an unusual button position and style too, and it has a very minimalist aesthetic overall - clean lines, no fuss.

This one is in good working order and in generally good condition except for some small scratches to the shade and some minor surface losses to the rim of the shade and to the back of it. The base is in good shape aside from a couple of grazes to the plastic, and there is little in the way of discoloration which is always good. All in all, it's a good-looking lamp with understated appeal.

The lamp measures approximately 38 cm (15 in.) in height when the neck is fully extended. The base has a diameter of about 13cm (5¼ in.) and the black gooseneck section is 24cm (9½ in.) in length. The cable (UK plug) is approximately 180cm (71 in.) in length. The lamp holder takes a large bayonet bulb.

Vintage Chrome and Black Targetti Sankey Gooseneck Desk Lamp, made in Italy

A super cool looking chrome and black gooseneck desk lamp, believed to be made in Italy by Targetti Sankey and dating we think from the 1970s. With its contrasting chrome and black design and ball shaped shade with distinctively shaped "venting" it's a definite eye catcher, whether switched on or not. It is also built with impressive quality and attention to detail. For example, instead of a standard rubber or plastic gooseneck tube, this lamp has a rubberised section to the neck which is then enclosed within a spring-like coil of metal, making what would otherwise simply be a functional aspect of the lanmp into an interesting feature. It points also to a high attention to the design and manufacture of the lamp.

The lamp does have a defect - there's a dent to the shade, an almost flat spot where it has had an impact of some kind - and although it is a shame, it does not detract too much from the look of the lamp and is not in an immediately obvious location. The high reflectivity of the chrome shape also helps to distract. The base is composed of a black enamelled cast metal with a plastic underside and has a white, solid feeling swtich.
Otherwise, the lamp is in good condition, with only minor signs of age and wear. It measures approximately 48cm (19 in.) in height with the gooseneck fully extended, of which 18cm (7 in.) is the rubberised gooseneck portion. The base has an approximate diameter of 15cm (6 in.) and a depth of 3.5cm (1½ in.). The ball shade has an opening of 11cm (4¼ in.) and an overall diameter of approximately 14cm (5½ in.). It takes a standard bayonet bulb ftting.

Large Original 1970s Chrome Desktop Newton’s Cradle aka “Ballrace” – Loncraine Broxton

A rare opportunity to purchase an original boxed chromed Newton's Cradle. This is the Loncraine Broxton "Ballrace" which made its first appearance in the late 1960s. This one probably dates from the 1970s and is a very good example. Whilst it was originally sold as a kind of novelty item for the executive desktop or the living room, it now has genuine appeal both as a decorative item in itself and as a design piece from its era. In many ways, it might almost be said to be iconic.

This one is in good order cosmetically - just a few signs of age and use and some very minor signs of pitting to the chrome. The box is in good shape too, with minimal wear, considering its age.

Vintage Leather Effect Wood and Board Desktop Paper or Letter Tray with Lid

Definitely vintage, possibly antique, but certainly only befitting of someone important with a desk to match their status. This large leather effect paper or letter tray has a leather effect finish and a burgundy lining to the base and the underside of the lid. The lid itself is sturdy and ensures no papers are allowed to escape the confines of the tray. It's a combination of wood and a kind of compressed paper board, whilst the knob on the lid is solid wood, so it's solid in construction and feels like it has some quality to it. It has signs of wear and age throughout, but that only adds to the charm and makes it more appealing in situ.

It measures 23.5cm (9¼ in.) across the front, 36cm (14¼ in.) from front to back, and has a height of 6cm (2½ in.).

Vintage Chromed Kinetic Balance Novelty Desk Toy – Horse Rider

A commonplace item back in the 1970s and 1980s, these "executive" novelties have a certain charm to them even now. This one is the "horse rider" variant and rocks back and forth on its podium until it runs out of steam, and is of good weight and construction (unlike some contemporary wannabees).

Measures approximately 11cm (4¼ in.) in length (from back foot to nose), with a height of 7.5 cm (3 in.)
The podium measures approximately 5cm / 2 in. in height with a diameter of 2cm (¾ in.) Has some signs of both age and use but generally in very good condition.
