A very nice-looking vintage desktop paperwork tray in bentwood, made by Mallod, and dating from the 1950s or 1960s. This one has a very pleasing appearance with original cosmetic wear from use and a suitably vintage-looking red Dymo label attached to one side reading "PENDING". It's been cleaned and given a subtle wax to make the most of it, but otherwise left as is. There are signs of use and wear and tear throughout and there's a small chip to the underside near the front. It's not noticeable in normal use and it seems to have occurred some time ago so unlikely to worsen.

The tray measures 26.5cm by 36.5cm by 5.5cm (10½ in. by 14¼in. by 2¼in.)

More than slightly unusual, and with a great retro technology look, these vintage Japanese intercom telephones are distinctive and appealing simply as decorative display pieces. Made by Kanto Gosei Kogyo (KK) they were intended as a serious method of office or workplace communication, not as toys, an intent backed up by the original sticker on one of the handsets offered here which reads: "Phone must be put back in marked area." Each handset can "call" the other by lifting it off the surface (triggering the latch underneath) and pressing the button. This rings the other handset and when that one is lifted up the two are connected and the users can speak to each other. Having said that, these are being sold as interesting decorative pieces or quirky display items first and foremost.

These are in good cosmetic condition considering their age, with just minor signs of wear to the plastics. The mouthpieces and buttons have become more of a cream colour than their original white, it is suspected. In terms of functionality they do require some work in order for them to work as intended. They successfully ring each other as described above and there are hints at voice connection from the speakers, but a re-wire is required in order for them to fully operate as they should. Each handset is approximatley 25cm (10 in.) in height. Each handset requires 2 "C" size batteries in order to function.

Playworld children's activity toy by Waddingtons, which dates from 1982, based around the theme of a Post Office. It features a set of thick card figures with plastic stands and wheels which can be used in conjunction with a set of thinner card playmats and story cards. This remarkably appears to be completely unused.

The plastics are still in their original bags and attached to their mounts and most of the figure shapes are retained in their original cards, although one or two have worked themselves free over time. The box is in good condition considering its age.

A toy which is very uncommon and even less likely to be in this preserved state if you ever do stumble across one. It would suit an enthusiast of old games or might make a quirky gift for a post office worker or postmaster/postmistress. Or, perhaps, it might just get used for its original purpose, finally - and it would be great for that to be the case.

A very nice-looking vintage desktop paperwork tray in bentwood, made by Mallod, and dating from the 1950s or 1960s. Ours has a very pleasing appearance with original cosmetic wear from use and a suitably vintage-looking red Dymo label attached to side reading "FOR ACTION". We have not restored the tray in any way except for a clean and a subtle wax. Expect there to be signs of use and wear and tear - we think it's all part of the character of this particular item.

The tray measures 26.5cm by 36.5cm by 5.5cm (10½ in. by 14¼in. by 2¼in.)
