Immediately recognisable to those of us of a certain age, this is a Fisher-Price portable cassette player and recorder, more boringly known as the Model 826. It's a battery-powered slice of two-tone brown plastic which dates from the 1980s (copyright 1980). It's a simple affair but that was part of its appeal and also why they became so popular to youngsters. It's a one-touch recorder via microphone or input and a player through its rather limited speaker. But what would you expect.

This one is in good cosmetic condition and seems to work correctly - it does require a good quality set of batteries, however. There are no chips or cracks to the plastics and all of the buttons are responsive and work as they should. Don't expect jaw-dropping audio, but do expect to be charmed by this relic of a particular time when this was indeed the thing to have...

A vintage Dymo 1710 Tape Labeller in good condition and replete with three rolls of 6mm tape (White on Black) to be used with it. The labeller is in a very Seventies colour scheme, with the body in an avocado tinted green and the "trigger" handle in a lighter colour. The plastics are in good shape with no chips or cracks and the mechanism appears to be sound and functional.
The lettering is all capital with numbers and various common symbols.

Large Vintage Metal Record Shop Sign “Classics for Pleasure 84p” (EMI Classical)

Judging by the font and the price (!), this sign from a record shop probably dates from the mid- to late-1970s. It's a metal item which has holes for hanging either vertically or horizontally and it proudly proclaims that for 84p you can have "Classics For Pleasure" and not in mono, oh no - the sign indicates "stereo"! The former presumably a reference to classical music records or cassettes from the EMI label of the same name. At some point, the price was different as the section where the "84p" is displayed is in fact a sticker on top of the metal sign.

The sign has wear and tear and some surface loss, most evident in the word "classics" but it looks great on a wall and is a certain conversation starter. It measures approximately 68cm x 28 cm (26¾ in x 11 in.). Any reasonable offers considered for this item.

Ross Digital Clock Radio / Personal Stereo Cassette Player

Imagine for a moment... a digital clock radio with cassette which one moment sits by your bedside and then the next becomes a personal stereo cassette player for you to use when out, I don't know, rollerblading in your neon leggings and tie-dyed top [that's a reference to the 1980s in case you didn't get it]. Well, if you imagined that and it sounds like something you just have got to own, then this is the item for you. It's made by Ross and is gloriously plastic-ky and does exactly as described in your imagination. It's a mains-powered digital clock radio/cassette player with the latter detachable to become a battery-powered personal stereo. The radio is AM and FM, you can wake to a buzzer or to the radio and it has a "snooze" function. It does everything that a digital clock radio should do, except for the detachable personal stereo part, which is unusual to say the least...!

Cosmetically, it's in reasonably good condition, though at some point in its past the power cable has been wrapped around the unit and this has led to what can only be described as surface indentations where the plastics have interacted. It's otherwise good, despite these marks and overall the styling does enough to distract from these imperfections.

Offers welcomed on this rather strange item!

A hefty slice of 1980s nostalgia in the shape of the Saisho PM 51P which is a "portable component system" with detachable speakers, cassette tape deck, AM/FM radio, micropohone input, external input, carrying handle and lots of glossy black plastic with red and white highlights. A perfect complement for that 80s bedroom decor!

In working condition (though a little bit crackly through the speakers when the volume is altered) and good cosmetically too. There are, of course, some minor superficial signs of age and use, and the speaker grilles have suffered the odd dent or two over the years, but it's generally in good visual shape with no controls missing and no chips or cracks to the body. The unit (without speakers detached and handle down) measures approximately 52cm (width) by 14cm (depth) by 22cm (height) (20½ in. by 5½ in. by 8½ in.). Each speaker is approximately 13cm wide and 13cm deep (5 in.).
