From the Playworld series of children's activity toys this is Play Circus. Made by Waddingtons, it features a set of thick card figures - a variety of circus-themed items such as people, animals, and othr props - with plastic stands and wheels which can be used in conjunction with a set of thinner card playmats and story cards. This set has been played with and might not be complete, but there is plenty there to get your teeth into and certainly enough to create most, if not all, of the set. Please review the photographs to be assured of what is present.

The box is in fair condition considering its age, but it does have some deformation and a tear to the front where tape has been removed a little too aggressively. The playmat cards show some signs of wear and use, as do some of the other items, but the set is broadly in good, used, condition.

Playworld children's activity toy by Waddingtons, which dates from 1982, based around the theme of the seaside. It features a set of thick card figures - a variety of items such as people, a donkey, Punch and Judy, an open-topped bus, sandcastle, deck chair, etc. - with plastic stands and wheels which can be used in conjunction with a set of thinner card playmats and story cards. This appears to be completely unused, which is rather sad in many ways!

The plastics (srands and wheels) are still attached to their mounts and most of the figure shapes are retained in their original cards, although one or two have worked themselves free over time. The box is in good condition considering its age.

Playworld children's activity toy by Waddingtons, which dates from 1982, based around the theme of a Post Office. It features a set of thick card figures with plastic stands and wheels which can be used in conjunction with a set of thinner card playmats and story cards. This remarkably appears to be completely unused.

The plastics are still in their original bags and attached to their mounts and most of the figure shapes are retained in their original cards, although one or two have worked themselves free over time. The box is in good condition considering its age.

A toy which is very uncommon and even less likely to be in this preserved state if you ever do stumble across one. It would suit an enthusiast of old games or might make a quirky gift for a post office worker or postmaster/postmistress. Or, perhaps, it might just get used for its original purpose, finally - and it would be great for that to be the case.

Remarkably this airport-themed Playworld children's activity toy by Waddingtons, which dates from 1982, has never been used. It features a set of thick card figures with plastic stands and wheels which can be used in conjunction with a set of thinner card playmats and story cards.

The plastics are still in their original bags and attached to their mounts and most of the figure shapes are retained in their original cards, although one or two have worked themselves free over time. The box is in quite good condition and has affixed to it the original price stickers.

A toy which is now uncommon and even less likely to be in this preserved state if you ever do stumble across one. We think it would suit an enthusiast of old games or of travel, or might make a quirky gift for a pilot or airline worker. Or, perhaps, it might just get used for its original purpose, finally - and we'd absolutely love for that to happen as well.

Roll up, roll up, roll up...

A set of vintage circus figures which we believe date from the 1970s and which features a weightlifting muscle man, a ringmaster, a clown, a trapeze artist and horse, an elephant, a monkey and a seal balancing balls and a fish. These are incredibly cute and colourful figures which, though showing some signs of wear and tear, make for a wonderful display piece or colourful piece for the collector of cirus-related items. It is possible that the elephant is missing an additional piece - although the ringmaster figure does sit on its back which might be his intended location. We are fairly sure that the original set of figures contained more items, but this collection of figures is complete bar that.

The figures range in size from a height of 11.5cm (4½ in.) to 29cm (11 in.). The figures are solid but do have some scuffing and slight deformation from use, but given their age and material we think they have surived very well indeed.

Pugh, Pugh, Barney McGrew, Cuthbert, Dibble, Grubb.

Iconic words to those people of a certain age. And these iconic postcards will be enjoyed by those very same people and beyond, with their colourful stills from the BBC's Camberwick Green television program and complementary coloured framing. The postcards date from 1969 and were sent and franked in 1970. We love these and think they are charmingly nostalgic items which will appeal to young and old alike.

The glossy red frames are modern and repurposed. They allow for both standing and wall hanging, and measure 15.5cm x 20.5cm x 3.5cm (6in x 8in x 1½ in approx.)

This 1960s Victory Puzzle Clock was originally a time teacher and jigsaw combined. It is made of plywood with colourful images on the front, the outer ring illustrating the four seasons and the inner ring depicting activities from childhood during the day, ranging from breakfast to bedtime stories, mostly school-related.

This item originally had some significant wear to the middle, where a smiling sun face illustration is found - notably there is also a hole in the same area, just to the left and above the hole intended for the hands. We have replaced the original movable hands with a new fully working clock mechanism powered by an AA battery to convert the puzzle into an actual clock. We have glued the pieces of the jigsaw in place and also used a clear matt Rust-o-leum top coat finish to protect the face from further damage or wear.

The clock measures 22.5cm by 23.5 cm (8¾in by 9¼in). The depth of the clock is 1cm (½ in) not including the mechanism/battery compartment, which protrudes by a similar amount at the back. No fixings are provided, as we expect this item to be shelf-standing but your own fixings could be easily added.

Dating from the 1950s, this children's toy promises "Tele-fun" and it delivers on that in the presnt day - it's fun just to hear what "old-school" technology sounds like. The intercom set which is basically a wired set of bakelite microphones and receivers is working (we tested it ourselves and are still smiling!), although you might wish to pay a little attention to the connections to make them more solid and dependable. The wire is over 4 metres long.

The box is colourful but admittedly rather tatty - but it'll make you smile, we think... as will the contents ;)

Perfect for the collector of nursery rhyme-related items or just as a very nice decorative piece, this Pall Mall Ware dish / bowl for a child features images from "Ride A Cock Horse to Banbury Cross". The bowl is weighted quite heavily and is in very good condition, with only minor imperfections and slight signs of wear. The maker's mark is clear and visible on the base.

The bowl measures 16.5cm (6½ in) in diameter and 3,5cm (1½ in) in height.

You will either love them or hate them, but you certainly can't ignore them! Dating from the 1950s these paper masks of a clown and a painted lady have retained great colours and feature moulded plastic noses and eye holes (still intact). They are approximately 20cm (8in) tall and originally had elastic bands to put over the wearer's ears (now eroded away).

Made in Hong Kong, they probably aren't usable as originally intended due to their age and fragility, but they would make colourful eye-catching display pieces, and could be easily box-framed.
