A bit of French cheek [chic...geddit?].

A vintage mug with a design which tells a risque "joke" based on roadsigns and anatomy.
In opaline or milk glass, it's a standard mug otherwise. The transfer "design" is repeated on two sides of the mug, which measures 8cm (just over 3 in.) tall with a similar rim diameter. The mug is in very good condition: no chips or cracks or no significant signs of use.

A rather stylish Boots brand plastic motoring lamp which, with its very 70s orange and brown tones, would be the perfect complement to a VW Camper or might serve as a quirky piece of interior decor. You could - of course - simply use it as a motoring or household lamp with a bit of extra retro appeal, though ;)

The lamp measures 16cm in length, with a height of 20cm and a maximum width of 12cm (6¼ in. by 8 in. by 4¾ in.), and is in very good condition. The outer plastic casing has some minor signs of wear, but is generally very clean and the bulb and battery compartments are both in very good, clean condition. The lamp takes 4 "D" size batteries and has several settings: torch only, warning lamp only, or both warning lamp and torch.

Of no great age, we reckon that this model Pink Cadillac would nonetheless make a super display or decorative item or a quirky gift for the fan of Americana. Without its box or stand, the model is in good condition bar a couple of defects (a cracked windscreen and a re-glued wiper) and it certainly makes an impact. The body is made of diecast metal with plastic interior and fixtures and features opening doors, opening bonnet (hood), opening boot (trunk), adjustable sunblind, adjustable seats, adjustable front wheel, workable steering, and independent spring suspension for wheels.

Dimensions: 33cm x 11.5cm x 8cm (13 in x 4½ in x 3¼ in).

A very quirky item of motoring memorabilia which has survived intact from 1968. It's a "lucky penny" which was given to customers of Burncross Service Station in Sheffield prior to the tyre law change which came into force and required 1mm of tread on at least three-quarters of a car's tyres. An odd little thing, in very good condition and we can't imagine that many survived!

Please note: we cannot guarantee that this lucky penny will bring the purchaser good fortune...

Dating from around 1949 this illustration - presumed to be from an educational book of some sort - depicts various road signs of the era, as authorised by the Ministry of Transport in that year. Some of these signs seem quite quaint when viewed from the present-day perspective, not to say quite confusing! The colourful nature of the illustration makes it a nice piece for a motoring enthusiast's wall -- or even as a gift for a driving instructor or professional driver. We particularly like the subtitle: "These make for safety on Britain's highways"!

We've mounted it temporarily on black card and inside a clip frame, but of course the buyer or recipient might ultimately choose a different method of display. The frame measures 21cm by 30cm (8¼in by 11¾in) and the illustration itself measures 14.5cm by 22cm (5¾in by 8¾in).

A 1953 "Meteor" automatic folding map of England and Wales, made in France and including original instruction leaflet and promotional materials. In very good condition considering its vintage origins and fully working - the plastic surrounds are in very good shape and the central display area is clear and unblemished. It's a very clever tool of its time, featuring collapsible "folding" map sections which are brought into view via the side tabs. The separate map views are referenced in the keys at the bottom of the map (one on each side). There's a little bit of a knack to using the tabs, and we'd recommend being a little bit careful when doing so, but once you get a feel of it, it's very smooth. The lowest folding section sticks very slightly when in the overall map view, but that's an extremely minor thing, particularly as the same section works absolutely fine when choosing from the individual area maps.

This is a fascinating piece of motoring memorabilia which immediately caught our eye and piqued our curiosity. This example is in fabulous condition and would be ideal for a collector of motoring history or motorobilia, or indeed for the casual map lover.
