Vintage Novelty Heinz Baked Beans Pencil Case

A true novely item, this is a vintage pencil case made of a flexible rubberised plastic in the form of a can of Heinz baked beans shaped into a pencil with a removal rubber top for the eraser. Immediately recognisable in terms of branding, it most likely dates from the late 1970s or early 1980s.
In good overall condition with some minor signs of age and wear, particularly to the "eraser", the pencil case measures approximately 23 cm (9 in.) in length with a diameter of approximately 4.5 cm (1¾ in.).

Set of “Minibrix” – All-Rubber Construction Toy by Premo c. 1935-40s

A set of "Minibrix" which were an all-rubber construction toy dating from the mid 1930s, made by the Premo Rubber Company. The building system pre-dates Lego but enshrined some of the principles of the latter, whilst being made of rubber rather than plastic. The interlocking technique of the blocks - moulded rubber recesses and matching nodes - is accompanied by roofs which are a single hinged piece of rubber. Sloping pieces allow for the fixing of these latter items.

This is a fairly comprehensive set, but it is not known if it is complete. What is included is a good selection of over a hundred bricks in good condition, with a few having damage to their rubber but still usable, two roofs, an illustrated "instruction manual" (/catalogue) and the original box. The box itself is quite dull in colour and has some surface losses but is reasonable considering it's likely to be over 80 years old.

One of a range of colourful rubberised plastic cars made by Galanite of Sweden, this is a fun VW Beach Buggy (Beetle-style) in blue with white fold-down windscreen. In good condition, with only minor signs of wear from use.

Lakeside Action Games Demolition Derby Game 1977

A very addictive and fun game of dexterity and calm headedness against the pressure of time. Based on a demolition derby, the idea of the game is to guide your car into the "target" cars within the arena by tilting it, whilst the timer is running. The target cars are held in place in slots with rubber bands and when hit "pop" up and sometimes out of the arena. The timer activates a gate in the arena - if you don't make it back "home" before the gate closes then you're out and your score is annulled. It's a lot of fun! There are two game variations to try out, as detailed in the instructions.

The game is complete with all pieces and instructions and is fully working. There are no chips or cracks to the plastics. The original rubber bands have long since perished but suitable replacements are provided.

Brutalist Gooseneck Lamp in Dark Brown by Gebruder Cosack

A highly unusual gooseneck lamp made by the German company of Gebruder Cosack. It's unusual in several ways. First, the gooseneck is not the normal slender kind that makes the shade the emphasis of the design, it's quite the opposite here. The gooseneck is definitely the attention-grabber here with its wide, black rubber sleeve. Second, the lamp clamps - either horizontally or vertically - with a sturdy slot to hold it in place. Third, nothing about this lamp is subtle - it's brutalist in its design. The clamp, the tightening knob, the switch... it's all just... brutally functional, and aesthetically very different. It would seem to date from the 1970s - the company itself ceased to exist in 1984.

This incredibly different lamp is in good, used condition and in fully working order. There are marks of wear and tear and some minor surface losses to the shade, but no major dents or dings at all. The rubber sleeve on the neck is in good shape. The clamp/base section has a few scratches but is in good shape.

The lamp - measured from base to shade at full neck extent- is approximately 66cm (26 in.) in length. The neck itself is 48cm (19 in.) long. The shade has an opening diameter of 11cm (4¼ in.) and is a semi-globe shape. The slot has a depth of 6cm (2¼ in.) and a width of 3cm (1¼ in.).

Calling all Mini fans! This bright green rubberised plastic Mini car made by Galanite of Sweden is just the thing to brighten up a shelf or show your devotion to the little car that became an icon.

In good clean condition with some superficial signs of age and use, the Galanite Mini measures approximately 7.5 cm by 3.5cm by 2.5 cm (3 in. by 1½ in. by 1 in.). Two available in very similar cosmetic condition.

Vintage Bruning Corded Electric Draughting Eraser

Something a little bit different, but also something with a very definite practical use...! A vintage Bruning corded electric eraser originally used by draughtsmen, architects and engineers. It probably doesn't require explanation - it's a very effective erasing tool for pencil drawings or other artwork - but it looks like a cross between a ray gun and a small hairdryer. This one is in fully-functioning order and is in good condition. It certainly makes light work of erasing tasks if you wanted it as a practical tool rather than as an interesting object or curio.

Vintage 17 Bar Wood Xylophone with rubber beaters

A quirky decorative piece if ever there was one...! This vintage 17 bar major note G-A wood xylophone which comes complete with rubber mallets/beaters makes a superb display and conversation piece, with its interesting ebonised style finish, gold lettering, and interesting shape. It has plenty of signs of age and wear to it as one might expect from something which has basically been hit repeatedly (!). One section of damage has been repaired to make it safe and structurally sound - please see photos. The xylophone has retained its tuning and although the felt dampers would benefit from renovation, it plays effectively in its current state.

The beaters are provided as an accompaniament - they also show significant signs of age and use, and are a good match for the xylophone. They have rubber ends and although not entirely straight (!) they perform adequately and look the part too.

The xylophone measures 48cm in length, 23cm at its widest, 12cm at its narrowest and is 3.5cm in height. It would easy enough to add hanging furniture to it if preferred.
