A rarity indeed, this is a 1970s windup toy featuring the character of "Woof" from the "Timbuctoo" series by Roger Hargreaves (he of Mr. Men fame). The cute hat-wearing dog figure is made of a composite resin with a simple wind-up mechanism which makes Woof walk.

Measuring approximatley 8cm in height, this particular Woof is in good condition considering his age and undoubted use. His mechanism works, albeit a little slowly.

Back when the world was more than a little bit "space mad" this was the kind of toy made available to the masses. Made by TAT in Hong Kong, it was sold as the Moonbase Central Flip-Over Car, and is a moon rover or space buggy powered by batteries which does indeed climb and roll-over when it meets an obstacle, so it can continue its journey. The chunky rubber tyres mean it will grip to an almost vertical surface before the metal bar on top provides the flipping action to send the car on its way again.

It measures approximately 18cm in length and is in working condition. It's missing a sticker which should read "T-21" on the front of the car and there are some losses to the plastics of the antenna / dish on top but otherwise it's in pretty good shape considering it's rough and tumble life.

The Tomy ("Tomytime") Chunky Changers were a range of plastic toys aimed at the younger child which were characterised by their colourful simple shapes which were capable of being transformed into various other figures or objects. This Chunky Changer transforms from a multi-coloured triangle into a high-speed style train, complete with overhead electric section and coupling.

The un-transformed Chunky Changer measures approximately 7.5cm by 3.5cm by 6cm (3 in. by 1¼in. by 2¼in.). It's in good condition, considering, with some minor surface wear and tear and some ageing to the original white colours.

A rare opportunity to purchase an original boxed chromed Newton's Cradle. This is the Loncraine Broxton "Ballrace" which made its first appearance in the late 1960s. This one probably dates from the 1970s and is a very good example. Whilst it was originally sold as a kind of novelty item for the executive desktop or the living room, it now has genuine appeal both as a decorative item in itself and as a design piece from its era. In many ways, it might almost be said to be iconic.

This one is in good order cosmetically - just a few signs of age and use and some very minor signs of pitting to the chrome. The box is in good shape too, with minimal wear, considering its age.

Billed as "hours of entertainment" with "thousands of variations" this is the Kay's "Identity Kit" game, from the 1960s, comprised of a large selection of head shapes and facial features for children to combine into recognisable or unrecognisable faces on the master sheet which has a transparent cover. Additional features can then be drawn onto the cover to add to the fun. This set has not been much used at all - many of the pieces are still arrached to their base sheet, and those that have are included in the spaces in the box tray. We can't be sure if it's complete but there are plenty of sheets and pieces to use, so regardless of whether it's 90% complete or 95% complete it's certainly not limited. An intriguing item... and not just for children.

A commonplace item back in the 1970s and 1980s, these "executive" novelties have a certain charm to them even now. This one is the "horse rider" variant and rocks back and forth on its podium until it runs out of steam, and is of good weight and construction (unlike some contemporary wannabees).

Measures approximately 11cm (4¼ in.) in length (from back foot to nose), with a height of 7.5 cm (3 in.)
The podium measures approximately 5cm / 2 in. in height with a diameter of 2cm (¾ in.) Has some signs of both age and use but generally in very good condition.

A little bit cute, a little bit strange and a little bit plastic. The Tomy ("Tomytime") Chunky Changers were a range of plastic toys aimed at the younger child which were characterised by their colourful simple shapes which were capable of being transformed into various other figures or objects. Amongst the range were vehicles and animals, the latter of which this is one - the cow (or bull, perhaps). This Chunky Changer transforms from a rectangular triangle of green and white into a recognisable rabbit, complete with ears, tongue, tail and legs. The rabbit also has googly-eyes and a small air hole at the back which, when blown into, emits a rather curious sound!

The un-transformed Chunky Changer measures approximately 7.5cm by 3.5cm by 6cm (3 in. by 1¼in. by 2¼in.). It's in relatively good condition, considering, with some minor surface wear and tear and some ageing to the original orange and white colours - the white now more of a cream tone and the green less bold than it would have been.

A very charming - and clearly of its time - "mechanical" washing machine toy made by Tri-ang and rather amusingly daubed with the slogan: "No more Blue Mondays when tots are happy with a Tri-ang washer". It's a plastic toy washer with wind-up mechanism, a mangle, and a lid, and it does work - the "motor" generates enough power to turn soapy water (we used Fairy Liquid in "testing") into a froth to clean dolly's clothes (none available at time of testing!).

This particular example has a couple of things to note. The original key to the wind-up mechanism is provided but not attached. At some point in the washing machine's history it has been replaced, possibly because it no longer fitted snugly. Additionally, the lid to the washer - although present - is somewhat out of shape. It will sit in place, but it requires a bit of finesse due to this. It's nice to have it, though. Included is the hose (somewhat inflexible due to age) and attachment which affixes to the rear of the unit to stop the water draining out and rests on the side of the washer. The box is present too, but it has some pen "drawings" on it. We say "but", however, they add further charm when you look closely at what has been drawn. The box itself is in reasonable structural condition and the original labels are more or less there.

With mangler attached, the washer measures approximately 19cm (7½ in.) in height and the body of the washer is about 11.5 cm (4½ in.) square.
