Ripe for upcycling or re-purposing, this shade from a Paragon Focus-Spot Universal Enlarger offers a distinctive shape, a cool black and white interior and aluminium exterior colour scheme, and a retaining rod ready for clamping to a stand or suspending to form a new light fixture. The shade features its original label and at the end of the retaining rod the holder takes a standard bayonet bulb. Overall, the shade has very appealing signs of age and use for that industrial or minimalist look.

The shade measures approximately 24cm (9½ in.) in length with an opening of approximately 20cm (8 in.). The retaining rod allows the bulb holder to be positioned along a length of approximately 8cm (3 in.) inside the shade and is held in place via three small knurled screws at the rear of the shade. The lamp will require rewiring and safety-checked in whatever form it is used.

A highly unusual gooseneck lamp made by the German company of Gebruder Cosack. It's unusual in several ways. First, the gooseneck is not the normal slender kind that makes the shade the emphasis of the design, it's quite the opposite here. The gooseneck is definitely the attention-grabber here with its wide, black rubber sleeve. Second, the lamp clamps - either horizontally or vertically - with a sturdy slot to hold it in place. Third, nothing about this lamp is subtle - it's brutalist in its design. The clamp, the tightening knob, the switch... it's all just... brutally functional, and aesthetically very different. It would seem to date from the 1970s - the company itself ceased to exist in 1984.

This incredibly different lamp is in good, used condition and in fully working order. There are marks of wear and tear and some minor surface losses to the shade, but no major dents or dings at all. The rubber sleeve on the neck is in good shape. The clamp/base section has a few scratches but is in good shape.

The lamp - measured from base to shade at full neck extent- is approximately 66cm (26 in.) in length. The neck itself is 48cm (19 in.) long. The shade has an opening diameter of 11cm (4¼ in.) and is a semi-globe shape. The slot has a depth of 6cm (2¼ in.) and a width of 3cm (1¼ in.).

The "Metek" folding lamp is a miniature triumph of engineering, packing a lot into a very small package. This one, believed to date from the 1950s, is in an unusual and original navy blue colour. It has the wear you would absolutely expect from a lamp which was designed to travel: this portable lamp folds up clam-like with the shade forming one half and the base the other, in order for it to be neatly stowed away and taken on the road or on the rails. A ball joint in the base and an adjustable joint below the shade provide the flexible angles required and the spring-loaded clamp built into the base allows the lamp to be firmly attached to an appropriate surface or object.

The lamp folds down into a compact form measuring approximately 16cm length by 12cm width by 11cm depth (6¼in. by 5in. by 4½in.) and comes with approximately 2m (6ft) of cabling to the plug.

A superb set of four "Shepherd" castor wheels on mounts by Archibald Kenrick & Sons., most likely used originally on an industrial trolley or other heavyweight factory application. Each castor has been carefully cleaned and polished, and the original (not very attractive) paint removed to given them a striking and unashamedly functional appearance. We think there's plenty of life left in these as part of a modern decor.

Each castor is 30cm (12 in.) in length and is designed (it seems) to be mounted at an angle across the corner of a trolley or other movable unit. Height from wheel to mount is approximately 15cm (6 in.) and the wheels have a diameter of 6cm (2¼ in.). The mounting points (four on each castor) will take an M5 bolt or screw thread. Each castor with mount weighs almost 600g (1½ lb.).

These BHI Lo-Vo lamps which originally found their place in machinist's benches and other workshop and machine environments are now highly sought after for decors with an industrial feel. Dating from the 1930s-60s they are unashamedly functional but this gives them a great visual appeal. This one is in good condition, albeit with the expected wear and tear from use, with a good shaped shade and good paintwork. The only minor niggles are the lack of the badge/sticker on the shade and the interior of the shade has some discolouration. Overall, the wear and tear merely adds to the intended functional aesthetic.

We have temporarily mounted this one on a wooden base - partly for testing purposes - but the lamp can be removed from this via screws and re-mounted on the base of your choice. All joints are sound and their stiffness can be adjusted via the side screws. Although the lamp is wired, as with all electrical items we would recommend testing and re-fitting by the buyer. It should be noted that the length of cable on this lamp is rather restricted, so an inline-switch and re-wiring to a plug might be preferable for the buyer to consider.

The lamp extends to approximatelty 1m (30 in.) and is fully adjustable - the base and shade rotate and there are three independent joints for full flexibility.

A combination of a vintage Winsor & Newton A2 Drawing Board and a nicely shaped child's table results in this somewhat industrial-looking side table or coffee table which we think breathes new life into these old pieces.

The board has been reformed so that it sits on the child's table and the latter has been sanded down and given a rough graphite grey Rustoleum furniture paint finish. The final piece has been given a series of wax finishes to provide a durable and stylish surface. The drawing board has characterful signs of wear and use which - now waxed - adds to the attractiveness of the table.

The table top measures 40.5cm by 58.5cm (16in by 23in) and sits at a height of 46cm (18in).

Most suitable as a doorstop, bookend or as a decorative piece for a "man-cave" or other industrial themed space, this old, distressed-looking aircraft chock might also be useful if you have an aeroplane that you wish to park safely.

It's had several coats of red and yellow paint over the years - at least two - with some great-looking wear and patina throughout, but it's been thoroughly cleaned so it's ready for interior use if required. The chock is sturdy as you'd expect, and weighs in at approximately 3.2kg. When placed in position it measures 33cm (13 in) on its longest side, 24cm (9½ in) on its shortest and is approximately 20cm (8 in) in height. It's not a delicate bit of kit, but it's got oodles of visual appeal for the right environment.

This item may be collected by the buyer or courier service arranged after purchase.

This small metal cabinet (30cm x 25cm x 11 cm / 12in x 10in x 4.5in) with a mirrored door, was presumably originally intended for use in a bathroom or work washroom, and was made in Britain by "Genyk" (stamped inside the door) sometime in the 1940s or 1950s. Ours is stripped back to reveal the metal and also lightly waxed for an unabashed industrial look.

The cabinet has two inner shelves of different heights for storage and has two holes in the back for wall mounting. The mirror is in good condition bar a few scratches and is quite heavy in the door, so this cabinet probably isn't stable enough for free standing unless you intend to weight it down. The interior has been cleaned and re-painted to provide a hammered silver look which is complementary to the exterior and to the exposed welds. The door handle is not original - we have added a new one which we think is sympathetic to the no-nonsense look of the cabinet, but it would be a simple task to replace with your choice of hardware. The original toothbrush holder is missing from the inside of the door, a minor fault when compared to the aesthetic appeal of this cabinet. And the surface patina of dings, scratches and scrapes only add to that, we think.

A very nice example of a "Monitor" No.26 brand blow lamp / blow torch in mixed metal with a main brass cylinder which was made in Britain and most likely dates from the 1950s. The lamp has been sensitively cleaned to make the most of the patina and different metal colouring without diminishing its attractive ageing (see the photos!). There are the natural signs of use: scratches, dents, etc., which we think add to its appeal (see the photos!) but it's complete and in good shape. We think it would be a welcome addition to a collection or to decorate a masculine space such as a "man-cave" and we couldn't call ourselves a bona fide antiques/collectables seller unless we had one.

Measures approximately 7.5 x 9.5 inches at its widest with the main body measuring 3,5 inches in diameter and 4 inches in height.
