Vintage 1970s Japanese Rhythm Alarm Clock in Light Mushroom Colour

With its elliptical face and curvaceous body, this Rhythm 2 Jewels Alarm clock presents a handsome slice of 1970s design. It would be going too far, perhaps, to call it space age, and also too far, perhaps, to call it minimalist, but it comes close on both counts. The clock face is a metallic bronze-purple colour depending on the angle of the light and there are no digits on it, just metallic pieces with orange detailing. There are flourescent sections to the hour and minute hands and a slim minute hand, as well as alarm time indicator. The clock is in working order and has a pleasant tick which is certainly audible (just in case you require or prefer a silent timepiece). Around the back of the clock are knobs to set the time and the alarm, as well as an adjuster for the accuracy of the clock, and a red push button which serves to activate or deactivate the alarm. The alarm itself is a good old-fashioned ringer which is effective.

The clock measures approximately 14.5 cm (5½ in.) at its widest point, with a height of around 12 cm (4¾ in.) and a depth of 7.5cm (3 in.). It's presented in mostly very good cosmetic condition - the chrome is nice and clean, the body is good aside from a small blemish on the left hand side (see photos), and there's a little bit of dust inside the face.

Vintage Purple Arthur Wood Hand Painted Piggy Bank (5272)

A pottery piggy bank, which dates from the 1970s and is unmistakeably an Arthur Wood piece, though no sticker is attached. The stylised floral design is hand painted in white and orange tones onto a deep plum/purple ground and the piece has the model number "5272" in gold to the base. Also on the base is the original plastic stopper.

The piggy bank measures approximately 22cm long, 12cm tall and 8.5cm wide. It's in good condition with just some surface grazes and minor wear from use, but no chips or cracks.

Handsome Vintage Stainless Steel and Black Metamec Battery Quartz Clock

A very handsome Metamec mantle or desk clock, with a very modernist style which would not look out of place in any mid-century inspired interior. With its ridged metal surround, simple silver-coloured face with Roman Numerals, and black accents, this clock certainly is an unfussy and stylish timepiece.

In very good cosmetic condition and fully working, the clock takes a "C"-size battery. It has a ticking second hand, but not a load or unpleasant ticking sound by any means.

The base measures 8cm by 5cm, with an overall height of 16.5cm and depth of 5.5cm. The face diameter is approximately 15cm.

Vintage Ravensburger Dick Bruna Eskimo 8-piece Wood Tray Jigsaw

As unmistakeable as it is charming, this is a Dick Bruna "Eskimo" jigsaw which was made by Ravensburger and is a simple puzzle for the smaller child. Comprising 8 pieces in a tray style, this typical Bruna illustration should find favour with the larger child and adult.

The puzzle measures approximately 10 in. by 7.5 in., and is in good condition overall with only very minor signs of age or use. There are a couple of small surface marks and pin holes to two of the corners, but otherwise it's good throughout.

Philips HR 5284 Small Electric Alarm Clock Made in West Germany

A rare electic alarm clock with analogue display delivered in a glossy black body with full front bezel. This is a model Hr 5284 made by Philips in West Germany, which was available in red/orange and grey/black colours schemes. It's a small unit, measuring just 12cm across the front, with a height of 7cm and a depth of 6cm, with the only departure from the smooth lines and surfaces being the alarm control button on the top of the body. The seconds hand is of the silent sweep variety and the face has fluorescent indicators. Time and alarm time setting is achieved via the adjuster at the rear of the body, which performs both roles with a push/pull mechanism. Please note, the alarm is a "buzzer" style and is relatively subdued. A service might improve this (i.e. make it louder), of course.

In good working condition with just a few minor surface blemishes/grazes to be expected of an item of this age and use.

Small Micronta Desktop LCD Display Digital Alarm Clock and Thermometer 63-9010

A small battery-powered Micronta LCD clock which has a few tricks up its err... small sleeves. This relatively uncommon unit dates from the 1980s and is mainly brown plastic with silver tone panels. It measures just 8cm square with a height of 7cm. There is an alarm and snooze function, with options for either 12-hour or 24-hour clock display formats, and a thermometer which provides a temperature reading in either Degrees Celsius or Fahrent units. And it has a small light too to illuminate the display.
We think you'd agree that all is quite a lot crammed into such a small package.

Cute Vintage 1962 Fisher-Price Small Plastic Barn Child’s Lunchbox

A lot of cute in a small volume, this is a 1962 Fisher-Price child's lunchbox / sandwich box in the shape of a barn. A mostly plastic affair - aside from the metal retaining section in the lid, which would originally have held a tiny flask in place - it is illustrated with charming farm-themed designs on paper. It's just very very charming and small - measuring only 13cm long, 6cm wide and 11cm in height. It's in good condition structurally with no chips, cracks or losses to the plastic, whilst the paper shows signs of both age and use. Does that add to its appeal? We think so...

Small Group of Vintage East German Erzegebirge Wooden Village Miniatures

A small group of vintage East German "Erzegebirge" wooden village miniatures, comprised of 10 houses (7 red roofs and 3 blue roofs) and one civic building with a clock. Only one bears a stamp underneath which reads "Made In GDR" but they are all of a kind. In good vintage condition with some signs of age and use, but nothing which is detrimental.

Overall, a charming little display set which adds a quirky touch of colour to a shelf and is a good example of Erzegebirge craft.

1980s Multi-Coloured Westclox Plastic Quartz Wall Clock

You'll probably either love this or hate it, but if you were a teenager (or slightly younger) in the 1980s then you might very well have had one of these on your bedroom wall. It has all that you'd expect from something of that era - bold primary colours, seemingly random shapes and geometric leanings. Think of the United Colours of Benetton, for example, and you're there. This is a Westclox quartz wall clock which was made in Britain and is primarily an ode to plastic and colour.

It is in full working order - requiring a single "AA" battery to run - and the plastics are all intact. It's likely that the "body" of the clcok was a more vibrant yellow originally. It has turned into a rather pale yellow colour with age. It doesn't seem to have been due to sun exposure (i.e. a yellowed white), as the entire body (external and internal) has faded consistently and evenly. There are some minor scratches and grazing to the outside of the body, but the clear face cover is in good shape with only very superficial scratches.

The clock measures 21 cm (8¼ in.) in diameter, the face has a diameter of around 16 cm (6¼ in.), and the clock has an overall depth of just over 4 cm (1¾ in.)

Avocado Green Copal Model 515 Portable Digi-Glo Rolling Clock

It's understandable if you're under the impression that it was only soft furnishings and bathroom suites which were avocado colour in the 1970s, but this cycling clock (rather like a flip clock but the numbers roll rather than flip as time passes) is proof to the contrary (see also). Made by Copal of Japan this is - unusually - marketed as a "portable" battery-powered device. A single "D" size battery provides the juice. The display has a glow option (activated by depressing the button on top of the unit) and the clock also has an alarm function (the alarm is activated via the button at the back). The clock emits a ticking sound and the rolling of the numbers is not silent, if noise is a concern for you.

This one is in full working order and comes complete with its original box (in relatively good condition) and instructions, which is also unusual. Condition-wise it is excellent with only extremely minor signs of age and use. The only cosmetic issue being some rusting to the underside of the metal battery cover. The actual battery compartment is in good order.

A rare opportunity to purchase a very uncommon item in great condition. Offers are welcomed.
