Vintage Orange Krups One Hour Kitchen Timer

A small but perfectly formed kitchen timer made by Krups and, of course, it's orange (a yellowy tint rather than a deep orange). Typical of their kitchen and other home accessories, its subtle and simple dome-shaped design is matched in its functionality. In this case, a simple rotation of the uppermost part of the timer sets the delay and a ringer denotes the end of the interval. Simple. And very pleasing.

In good working condition, with just a few minor scrapes to the metal lower section. The plastic upper is in good condition with no chips or cracks. The time indicator line doesn't quite line up with the "0" marker but that's just how they are, it seems. The timer has a diameter at the base of 6cm (2¼ in.) and is approximately 4cm in height (1½ in.)

Vintage Orange Galet Terraillon Kitchen Timer designed by Roger Tallon

A plastic pebble-like design icon, the "Galet" kitchen timer was designed by Frenchman Roger Tallon for the Italian company of Terraillon in the 1970s. It is a simple effective design, comprised of two halves of a squashed "sphere", with the upper half rotating to wind up and choose the time delay which is visible in white text on a black dial through the small lozenge-shaped window. The timer is attached to a 14 inch / 36 cm loop of rope allowing it to be hung up or carried. The timer emits a ringing bell when the delay has elapsed and the timer will run for up to 60 minutes.

This one is the orange variation (you may have also seen yellow and red versions) and it is in good condition overall, with just some minor superficial surface wear. It is fully functional.

Pair of Vintage Bright Orange Tefal Aluminium Pans (One Lidded)

A pair of Tefal saucepans in bright orange colour with pale grey interiors presented in unused condition, complete with original stickers intact. Even the knob for the lid is still in place on the "wrong" side, having never been removed as per the instructions. There be may one or two minor signs of storage wear but otherwise these are absolutely as they would have been when initially bought. These would look the part in any retro kitchen, and although they could of course be used as designed, they could also be retained in this condition and serve as vintage decorative items (the handles have "loops" which would make hanging them easy). The bright orange would certainly add colour to any !

The two pans are as follows:

rim diameter 17.5 cm (6¾ in.), base diameter 16cm (6½ in.), height 8cm (3¼ in.) not including lid.
rim diameter 16.5 cm (6½ in.), base diameter 12.5 cm (5 in.), height 8.5cm (3½ in.).

Vintage Wooden Cutlery Drawer Tray with Original Paper Liners

A wooden cutlery tray in genuine vintage condition with its original paper liners, which are flower-patterned in mustard, yellow and cream - very firmly from the 1960s! The tray has four compartments of varying sizes, carry handles, and is ready for use, either for cutlery or for other storage or organisation purposes.

The tray measures approximately 35 cm by 25 cm by 6 cm (13½ in. by 10 in. by 2½ in.).

Funky Golden Yellow and Black EKS Kitchen Scales Made in Sweden

What can be said that the photos don't say!? Bold design (1970s Ford Capri, anyone?), bright golden yellow, black and white colour scheme. A highly usable set of old school kitchen scales. Swedish. Made by EKS. That's it - just look at them! These have got to be the funkiest looking kitchen scales you've ever seen. If not, then get in touch, because the competition is on!

The scales are in excellent working condition with very minimal signs of wear or age to the plastics. They measure approximately 20cm (8 in.) by 16cm (6¼ in.) by 15cm (6 in.) when in the "stored" position shown in the photo, and approximately 24cm (9½ in.) by 16cm (6¼ in.) by 18.5cm (7¼ in.) when in use with the tray on top of the base. There is a calibration dial on the face of the scales and the weights are displayed primarily in Kilogrammes and then secondarily in Pounds and Ounces.

Battery Powered Square Hanson Wall or Kitchen Clock in Brown Tones

With its brown colour scheme and retro font, we think it's safe to assume that this square plastic kitchen wall clock by Hanson dates from the era of avocado green bathroom suites, the Austin Allegro, and flowery wallpaper - the 1970s. The clock is almost exclusively brown - chocolate brown square casing, a lighter brown face and digits, and dark brown hands and certainly would have blended in nicely with kitchens of the time. We think it has life left in it, either as a kitchen clock or shelf standing clock, and it is in full working order.

Cosmetically there are some superficial scratches to the case and cover as one might expect, but no chips or cracks. There is some discoloration to the lower section on the inside of the clock due to the clear cover being removed and stressing the plastics, but this is unlikely to be visible in normal use and almost certainly not if wall mounted. The clock takes a single "C" size battery and is almost entirely quiet. There is no sweep or second hand, but rather the minute hand continuously moves around the face in a gentle fashion as the seconds pass. The clock is 20cm (8 in.) square approximately with a depth of 4cm (1.5 in.)

Vintage Smiths Cream and Chrome Timecal One Hour Kitchen Timer / Ringer

A vintage and fully-functional one hour kitchen timer made by Smiths in a cream and chrome body with brushed metal face. Easy-to-use, the timer comes complete with original box and instructions, and in good cosmetic condition. There are only very minor scratches and other superficial signs of age and use.

The timer measures approximately 8cm in height and 7cm wide, with a depth of approximately 4cm.

Vintage Smiths Timecal 5 Hour KItchen Timer in Olive Green

This Smiths Timecal 5-hour Timer with a white hard plastic outer casing and olive green coloured face behind clear plastic is not only a fine vintage display piece but also fully functional for the kitchen. The has minimal signs of wear and tear - the face is clean and clear and there are no chips, cracks or major scratches anywhere on it. The rear polished metal section has minor suface scratches only but these are not visible in ordinary use and they're not significant.

The timer operates via a dial which, when turned clockwise, increases the time in minutes, with hours added via a complete rotation of the dial. The number of hours chosen is shown in a small window near the top of the face (at 12 o'clock, if you will), and the dial can be set up to a maximum of five hours.

The timer is sold without its original box.

Pair of 1950s Vinyl Covered Beech Framed Stools

A matching pair of original and unusually shaped low stools, probably intended for a kitchen, with beech frames dating from the 1950s. The seats are not square, instead tapering slightly from back to front and the legs extend to very pleasing ball feet. The stools have their original vinyl covers which are intact but which are not in the best state (see photo), with some paint marks and minor tear damage. Although we loved the original covers, we have treated the stools to a fresh Scandinavian-style design in olive green, blue and brown on a white background, but left the original covers underneath should the buyer wish to use them.

The stools have been carefully cleaned, sanded and waxed.

Mid-Century Style Wood Spice Rack

Very much in the style of Habitat-designed spice racks - although this is a single decker rather than a double decker - this is the perfect complement to a mid-Century or Danish kitchen/dining room. We don't know much more about this other than that we like it and we hope you find it appealing too! We suspect it's from the same era as the Habitat teak spice racks and it's not a bad homage in our opinion.

The rubber stoppers on the glass bottles are all present, although not providing an absolutely convincing airtight fit and the overall condition of the jars and the rack is very good. The rear has a minor blemish by virtue of its original price label - long since gone. The rack can be either hung via the hooks on the rear or left standing and measures 36cm by 10cm by 8cm (14in by 4in by 3¼in).
