A rare book illustrated with chromolitho plates by H. H. Couldery of F. E. Weatherly’s “Dame Pussy’s School” published in 1888.

The book is 12 pages in length with 5 chromolitho plates, measuring 15cm x 11 cm (6in. by 4in.). The book was printed in Bavaria, Germany and published by Hildersheimer and Faulkner (London) and George C. Whitney (New York).

The author Frederic E. Weatherly is responsible for writing the songs “Danny Boy”, “Roses of Picardy” and “Holy City” as well as being the author of the first work featuring signed Beatrix Potter illustrations. Henry Horatio Couldery was a noted artist and illustrator, famous particularly for his works depicting cats, dogs and other animals in mischevious and characterful manner.

The book shows signs of age and some general yellowing/foxing to the paper, but considering its age it is in remarkably goodand solid condition.
