Large Modernist Stainless Steel Salt and Pepper Pots by WMF Germany

A pair of – frankly – oversized salt and pepper pots made by WMF (the artist formerly known as “Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik”) of Germany. They are beautifully sculpted from stainless steel with a form which resembles something like a brutalist hourglass, and they are indeed large (almost 8cm / 3in. in height and 6.5 / 2½ in. in diameter). They’re a bold statement.
There’s not much more to be said – you’ll probably either love them or hate them. They are in good condition with the odd surface scratch, and a screw stopper base to allow for re-filling. And just in case you are wondering, the two pots are indeed different from one another in terms of which is salt and which is pepper. The former has larger holes from which it dispenses…
