Large Lotus Studio Pottery Vase in Sage with Leaf Design Elizabeth Skipworth

A large – 28 cm / 11 in. tall – vase made by Lotus Studio Pottery of Stoke Gabriel in Devon. More famous for their stylised bulls, this vase also features the trademark dark sage colour and speckled blue-grey tone of their work in the 1970s, but with a leaf or petal design, almost fern-like, running vertically from the base. The vase is ribbed horizontally and has a slender pinch about two-thirds down from the rim. These aspects and the glaze provides much play of light on the surface.
A great piece for the collector of Lotus pottery the vase in execllent condition with no discernible defects. The piece is stamped to the base with the Lotus Pottery mark.
