A very cute, possibly dating from the 1960s, salt and pepper set. The birds are in painted wood and are stamped with “foreign” on their bases. You might possibly think of these as pure kitsch, but they are most certainly “seasoning with a smile”.
The base measures approx. 6 cm by 12.5 cm (approx. 2¼ in by 4¾ in) and each bird measures 9 cm (tail to beak!) by 4.5 cm ( 3¾ in by 1¾ in), with a maximum height of 11cm (4½ in). We measure them as 8.5 on the Kitsch Scale.
