A stunning highly stylised carved wood bird which is believed to date from the Mid-Century period. Most likely teak and probably a long-tailed tit, this is an expertly realised piece with great attention to the grain and to the form. It is typical of mid-century modern stylised decorative wood carving and is a superb and uncommon example of its type.
The bird measures approximately 30cm (12 in.) from tip of the tail to the beak. with a height of 9cm (3½ in.). It is In excellent condition with no chips to the form, just some very minor wear to the flat “base”.
