Antique Decorative Gilt Gesso Frame with Blackboard

Perfect for to-do lists, shopping lists, or notices and signs with a touch of distinction, this genuine antique gilt gesso frame has been supplemented with a contemporary blackboard which will take a traditional chalk stick or chalk pen and wipes clean with a damp cloth or sponge. The frame itself has ornate and elegant decoration of flourishes and floral motifs but is subtle enough not to be overwhelming or fussy.

The outer frame measures 36.5cm x 29cm ( 14.5in. x 11.5in.) and the blackboard (frame aperture) is 32cm x 24cm (12.5in. x 9.5in.).

There is age-related wear and tear to the frame which adds to the look and contrasts well with the blackboard. There is evidence of previous woodworm which has been treated and there is some slight gaping in the mitres but nothing very noticeable or concerning.  The frame is sound and solid otherwise.  Please note: no fixings are provided with this particular frame, but – due to its lightness and smaller size – a standard hanging arrangement would suffice for wall hanging or it could be easily stand-mounted.
