Mallod Mid Century Bent Plywood Coal Scuttle
A mid-Century bent plywood coal scuttle which we believe was made by Mallod (no label is present but it’s absolutely their style). Ideal re-purposed as a waste-paper or storage bin, the distinctive shape of the scuttle is matched by the materials – the bent plywood offset by copper fixtures and fittings.
In good cosmetic condition, it does show signs of wear but that only adds to the look of it: expect there to be significant scratches and dings, and some minor chips to the rim. The base has more significant signs of wear and tear, but remains solid… not enough perhaps to act as originally intended but certainly sturdy enough to use for light storage duties. The item has been cleaned and waxed to protect the finish and to enhance the look.
