Pair of Vintage Handpainted Kokeshi Dolls with Poseable Heads

This pair of unusual vintage handpainted Japanese Kokeshi dolls have distinctive sugegasa hats (aka “coolie” hats), charming “bobbling” heads and decorative kimono costumes. The heads are poseable via a small dowel in their “necks” which allows for some movement to create a sense of expression. There is some minor wear to the paint whch is consistent with their age but there are no significant dings or scratches to either doll.
The Kokeshi dolls measures approximately 7.5cm (2¾ in.) tall.
