Rare 1960s Arthur Wood Pottery Orange and Brown Striped Cat Money Bank

£24.00

If ceramic cats have nine ceramic lives like their real-world feline counterparts, then this cheerful chap is probably on number nine of those. After suffering a catastrophic travel injury, he arrived at AIP HQ in a manner which can only be described as “not completely intact”. Rather than consign him to history (i.e. the bin or to the bottom of plant pots), we set about repairing him, on the basis that he’d managed to live for over 50 years and was still smiling and that deserved to be taken into account.
So, he’s not perfect, far from it, but he’s got a winning personality despite the misadventures.
He was made by Arthur Wood Pottery and he’s a rare thing indeed. You don’t see many of these at all. He measures about 20 cm long and about 17cm high (including that wonderful tail). In terms of his faults, he now has quite a few but he’s intact and that’s the main thing now. Hopefully the significant repairs he has had (see the photos for details) – notably tail reconstruction surgery and re-painting – are good enough to warrant someone re-homing him “as is”…

SORRY, SOLD OUT!
