Signed Arthur Wood Dog Money Box with Handpainted Flower Design

Put some money aside and put a smile on your (or someone else’s) face courtesy of this Arthur Wood handpainted ceramic dog money box which dates from the 1960s or 1970s. Finished with an orange and brown floral design on a white ground this little canine comes complete with happy eyes, seemingly wet nose, a warm smile, and original sticker still adhered to his tail. Rather unusually, this one features blue eyes – others we have seen have rather plain looking painted eyes.

In very good condition with only very minor signs of wear and age (the odd graze to the finish), the money box has its original “bung” and is signed to the base. The dog is approximately 18cm (7 in.) long.
