Small Late 19th / Early 20th Century Card and Metal Jewelry Postal Box
£8.00
A small cardboard box in two parts with metal reinforced edges which retains its original label for the jewellers of G. W. Harvey & Co. of Frederick Street, Birmingham. The box was sent sometime between 1880 and 1930 from the London jewellers of Robert Pringle and Co., whose emblem is printed on the sides of the box – with one side having the remnants of a red wax seal on it.
The box measures 16cm by 8cm by 8.5cm, and due to its age, origins and wear would make an interesting display piece. It’s certainly an unusual item to have survived and has lots of character.
