1950s-1960s Piero Fornasetti Pistols Metal Serving Tray
Call for price
In well-loved condition, by which it is meant that there are considerable signs of age, use, and wear and tear, this metal serving tray is nevertheless unmistakably a Piero Fornasetti design. Despite the condition, this remains a desirable example of the Italian designer, of its era and of its type.
It features – on the top surface – Fornasetti’s trademark black and white illustrative style, depicting various pistols, revolvers, muskets and powder pouches, surrounded by an imitated rivet design, whilst the underneath is a faux wood effect. Both surfaces have significant wear and loss and some discoloration (please review photos carefully) and there is notable handling wear to one corner where the tray has been frequently held.
The tray is a rounded square approximately 33cm by 33cm (11 in. by 11 in.) with a depth of approximately 2cm (¾ in.).
