John Pinches “True Love” pendant in 24ct Gold Finish and Solid Silver (1976)

£40.00

Made by jewellery designer John Pinches, this large vintage solid silver pendant with a beautiful 24ct gold finish commemorates Christmas and is one of 12 pendants with designs inspired by “The Twelve Days of Christmas”. This particular pendant represents the first day of Christmas and features a beautiful engraved Partridge and Pear Tree on one side, and an excerpt from the carol on the other side: This being “My true love sent to me a partridge in a pear tree”.

A great investment piece, gift for a loved one, or indeed as a very fine piece of jewellery to wear.

The pendant is a solid silver piece of jewellery weighing 26 grams.  The pendant was not mass produced, being available only in 1976,  and is therefore an excellent collector’s piece. The chain is vintage, sterling silver, with a non-precious gold finish.  The pendant has a full sterling silver assay office hallmark with date letter for 1976 and “JP” maker’s stamp for John Pinches.

The pendant measures 3.8cm (1½ in) in diameter, with a 3mm (1/8th in) thickness. The curb chain has a length of 45cm (17 in).  The box is original and although not perfect is nevertheless clean and tidy. The pendant has some minor marks, mostly on the reverse side, but nothing which detracts from the overall appearance and quality of the piece.
