Stylish Vintage Metal and Vinyl Bedroom or Vanity Chair in black, cream and green

Dating most likely from the 1950s or 1960s, this bedroom or vanity chair delivers a distinctly stylish look from the time – slender black metal legs and frame with a vinyl covered seat and over-sized curved backrest in a cream, black and green irregular striped pattern. The circular seat and rest are both completed with black piping and the slightly splayed legs are finished with elegant self-balancing feet.

The chair is in original unrestored visual condition, with ageing and wear to the vinyl (notably for some reason to the green stripes which are much subtler than they would have been) but we have refreshed the padding with new foam to the seat and backrest so that it is at least a lot more functional and comfortable than when it came to us!  There is a small tear to the vinyl on the front side of the seat (pictured) which doesn’t affect the look of the chair in any way and we don’t think it will deteriorate further.  The chair is structurally very solid, so if a purchaser would prefer to completely re-cover the chair, then it’s on a firm foundation that they would be doing so.
