Vintage Luxo / 1001 Lamps Grey Adjustable Desk Lamp with Cast Base

Its size, its mid-century styling and its smooth grey finish combine together to make this 1001 Lamps (a re-badged Luxo lamp in reality) a handsome and very practical piece of lighting. A heavy cast base anchors the lamp securely and from that solid foundation, the entire lamp can be rotated around 360 degrees, its arms extended and the shade positioned. The cool grey tone makes it just as flexible when it comes to fitting into its surroundings. The shade is particularly pleasing to the eye, with a broad opening and distinctive “venting”  to it.

This one is in good condition, with just some minor signs of age and use – some surface paint loss to the shade (pictured) – but, importantly, no nasty dents or distortions to the shade. The base measures approximately 20cm (8 in.) in diameter and each section of the lamp armature is approximately 30cm (12 in.) in length. The shade has an opening diameter of approximately 20cm (8 in.) and a length of 19 cm (7½ in.). The cable has an inline switch.
